Album Notes
LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!! - September 8, 2007

Busy, busy, busy!!! I have so much going on right now I can't see straight. It's all good though! The logistics of the video shoot of "DEATH ANGEL" are still being juggled about due to the weather. Mr. DeLa O has some great ideas for each scene he wants. From what he's let me in on, it should be a great vid. The locations are familiar to me and the concept as he has explained is totally clear in my mind. Now if this Texas weather and my own hectic life will permit, we'll get this sucker on tape!!!!
The play-list for my upcoming release continues to grow. I still have a few more tunes to write, record, mix, master, and upload to the main files, but all is falling into place nicely. This time around the songs are much heavier and I've really been stretching it with my horrid voice! I've done a bit of preliminary work on the graphics but nothing concrete yet. Malea Joy has given me an idea though.
A big warm hello goes out to all my great friends on all the social networks and every website I use these days!!! Without friends, life is empty.

Artist Bio

Jose’ Diaz

Victoria, Texas musician Jose’ Diaz has been doing his fret-board gymnastics since the age of 13. His brand of high-volume-guitar-fueled-hard-rock has dominated his music from the beginning. From a humble high school gym in the early eighties, to the bright lights of the Riverside Convention Center, the few times that he has stalked the stage have been memorable to those who witnessed him live and unrestrained. His tornado-like finger-ballets cover the entire guitar neck and then some. For Mr. Diaz it seems the end of the fret-board is no barrier. His playing is the true essence of being “loud and proud”.
Jose’ is currently recording tracks for his next full length release due out hopefully late on 2007. His juggling act of recording himself, mastering and performing on other artists works, coming up with new material, updating web pages, and a day job, is just the tip of his feverish mental iceberg. His music is available almost everywhere in the digital domain. And he adds new stores to his distribution belt as often as he can.
With five releases under his belt, each filled with blazing guitar work and thought provoking lyrics, he forges ahead with new material and increasing endeavors. His collaborators are many as well as the lists of websites where his music can be found. His works have appeared on several releases of the Compilation Series put out by A.O.G.MEDIA, and his guitar slinging has graced works by such artist as Terry Daun, and Jesse DeLaO, (the head of A.O.G.MEDIA). Some of the songs for A.O.G are even contractual “exclusives” found only on the media companies' releases. There is an unreleased work done with New York head bangers LOVEBONE and some online collaborations on In addition to his collaborative works, Jose’ has appeared onstage recently with Jesse DeLaO as a guest guitarist for a CD release party for COMPILATION #7 from A.O.G. This was his first return to the stage in almost twenty-five years. On other fronts his songs have been played by radio and internet stations world wide and a current promotional push is underway in Australia.
The band he formed in high school left its mark on Jose’ and is reflected in how easily he creates music both with and without others involved. His studio is a minefield of lyric sheets and guitars, headphones and microphones. The band LEGASYS may no longer exist but Jose’ does. The music is still being born and that’s what drives him, the music.
Keep your ears peeled back for the next powerful offering from this secret of the gulf coast. The guitars will be loud and the songs will be proud!

Death and decay
Thank you for being patient. Here is my latest release.
It takes twelve journeys through the dark places we all have to go thru inevitably. I hope these songs are the beacons of darkness I want them to be. No need to be afraid, it's only sound waves lapping at the shore of your mind. When it's over you can reflect on the memories and decide if it's worth another ride.
Thanks to all the new friends I've made since my first release(Nobody Wins!).

and most of all, you reading this right now.

Well, this makes three cds put out over about a years worth of time. I don't think that that's in anyway too much. I took more time to do this third one and will take even more time to do whatever comes next.
Doug Gross(Associated Press), did a very informative article I found in the Victoria Advocate. It gives a good glimpse of the music industry past, present, and possibly the future of. There are a few net links with the report also. If you find the article and not the links feel free to E-mail me and I can get you the links.
Here comes a much hotter TEXAS SUMMER. The environment is really screwed up. Global warming is a fact. We don't understand the Arabs as well as we should. I don't vote for presidents, I believe in America as a people.

The Concept

Anything that exist can DIE and DECAY in any multitude of ways. For some things, it's just a falling apart of the physical. For other things it's the unraveling of the essence of being. Disintegration can happen on any level and is worst when not expected. It takes a long horrible fall off the ladder, and a fierce soul consuming struggle in the mud, before we realize we just need to give up. We discover at some point that it's better to go fetal and comatose than to fight what our life has become. At some unknown point in the future, the ladder will still be there waiting for us. We won't know it is until we are truthfully ready to start climbing again.
To be in the presence of genius can be dangerous to our own intellect. When confronted by some one or some thing imbued with greater intelligence than our own, the result is usually the DEATH of our feelings of safety and sometimes even our confidence. After all, here is some one or some thing with the ability to do everything we do only better. The result can be a DECAY of our own personality.
The DEATH of a relationship can linger for a lifetime. The best we can hope for is to be remembered by those we are no longer in touch with. Across a lifetime the memories on both sides of the separation can DECAY.
Nothing can take the place of the feelings we have when we're young. As long as we hold on to that "invincibility" our confidence in ourselves will never DECAY.
Those who've died defending this country, have passed in a multitude of ways. The loved ones left behind were not there to know what the passed on felt. The DEATH in defense of what you believe in and for those you love is a proud DEATH to die. The memories of our fallen heroes will never DECAY!
From somewhere on a battlefield far, far away, a soldier lay next to DEATH. With his final breath, he breathes a phrase onto the wind. In his heart he feels the angels carry it halfway around the world to the ears of his widow. At sometime in the future, he coalesces next to her in time to save her from the DECAY of her own sanity.
Love should last forever. Unfortunately,,,,,. On any given day love can walk away from us and never return.
To see something, or, some one, so beautiful that it stops you in your tracks and forces feelings of wanting thru your mind is a torturous kind of DEATH. You know you'll never have it, but, for the moment you crave it so badly. Once it's gone, however, the memories do DECAY, eventually.
Life is a STAMPEDE. Don't ever loose your step, if you can help it!
Those SEVEN DEADLY SINS. What would life be like without them? Really.
Some memories stand out like nothing else can. Those can cause our minds to DECAY into something we never wanted to be in the first place. That's an existence hard to get out of.
When DEATH takes me, watch what you say. Watch what you say, but not who you say it to. I will have went through my life respecting people as much as I can. Even in DEATH I will expect the same from all of those who knew me.
As for those who never knew me, I'm nothing special waiting to be found. I'm just me.
I need to know if any of you reading this are from Victoria,TX. If so, we need to talk!
Music is here, I can feel it, it needs to happen!
Look, I'm just 40 I'm not dead or diying!!
This disc is about death and decay. not about death as some people like to glorify it. Just as something that occures wether we want it to or not. It's inevitable!
How we react to it is what sets us apart from the animals.
As it happens, they don't react to it. They react after it has occured. We react to it as it happens and after.
Check out the new tube thingy "Musicplustv" It's a west coast thing. Should be good for all.
Websit is up and running(

"Cupid Shoots To Kill", got played on 106.9, the local rock station here in Victoria,TX. My thanks go to Adam West, the DJ, for mentioning my entire bio after the song finished!
It seems I've got a lot of attention as of late. I hope clear channel stays attentive.
This was a dark cd. I'm a dark person. Just be glad I did not write "DEATH AND DESTRUCTION" .
Or, maybe you should let me know if you want me to actually write it. HMMMMM?????????
Death by volume sounds good too.

Laura Turner Lynch has done an awesome review of this cd on!! My thanks to her for seeing my mindset so clearly. I urge you to check out You will like the site, be you artist, fan, or other!!!

Good to see so many people finding the legasyssongs website!
Visitors are coming from all over the world. This is due in large part to Jesse Delao.I've been lucky enough to get onto A.O.G. MEDIA's COMPILATION Volumes 5 and 6, and hope to make it onto #7 as well. With all that's going on right now, I'm still hard at work on my next project. Several songs are done but I've yet to set a release date. Stay tuned.
I just entered a battle of the bands online. if your a fan please go here- Jose' Diaz(LEGASYS) on iSOUND.COM -and get as many freinds and family as possible to do so as well. Once there, play any of my songs and/or download them(it's free!) between April17th and may15th. I aint gettin any younger and the law keeps choking back the volume!

I'm a musician. Every since I can remember, I've loved music. I miss being in a band right now. I miss being on a stage even more. My heaven these days is standing in front of my amps with my eyes closed. There's a slight breeze that washes over me. 520 watts of power sets me free!

Since I started up all these web pages, I've made new friends and found new bands. Most of which I may never meet. This world in here is populated by an infinite array of personalities. Each individual brings something in here that counts. I bring myself and my music. I hope I "count".

I've been listend to in countries around the globe. I've made new friends in a lot of those countires. I've sold lots of single songs in the digital download world. I have my sights set even higher.

I want your attention. I am a musician. I pour my heart and soul into every song I write. Judge me honestly. Real friends don't hold back. I'll never hold back when I write a song. I'll never hold back when I judge someone elses song.

I admit I spend a lot of time in here. But then again, I've been locked to my desk all week. I miss spending time with my muse(Glenda). I miss getting my hands on my guitars. What I miss the most though, is getting noticed. 106.9 played my "cupid shoots to kill" on the sunday club lonestar show. That felt good and Adam West read out my entire bio. Site traffic increased and has not sagged since,( You can now even browse for me on the 106.9 home page. That's a bonus I never expected. My hat tips to the station in gratitude. I'll never stop writing and playing, but even a little attention would help. You know I give it to you. That's why I'm here, you have mine.

I know my voice aint much to listen to. If I had a band I would'nt sing lead-vocal. If I had managment and PR, I would'nt have to do those jobs either. I wish I had all the things in my life I needed that would let me work on my music more than I do. I've been out of the studio all week and in charge of operations at my day job. My boss is on a much needed vacation. I'll need one soon as well.

I'd had this written out far more eloquently earlier. An accidental keystroke vaporized it though. I don't ever give up though. I wrote it all again. That's me. I don't quit. Ever. If you get the chance to hear my music, let me know what you think. Rate it, comment on it, thash it, trash it, smash it, or blast it. All I ever wanted was honest friends. I still don't know if I've found any. Except maybe(and I am sure), for Jesse Delao, of A.O.G. MEDIA. He works his but off to bring unknown artist and bands from around the world onto compilation discs that he then sends litteraly, "around the world". He's not out to get rich off people like the big companies. He's the selfless helmsman for any artist with enough conviction about their music to take the first step and open their minds to new possibilities. With big record companies, profit comes first. That's why you hear songs you don't really like all day long.

9/22/2006-(I'D LIKE TO SHARE SOME INSIGHTS) - September 22, 2006
This is just a paste of a letter from a good friend who recently did and interview with a filmaker. The film which percipitated the interview is called "ELECTRIC PURGATORY". It's a documentary about blacks in the Rock-N-Roll industry. The film looks to be an eye opener from the trailer I've seen. Anyway, I was asked for insights and this is what rolled off the top of my head.:
Easily done.
My mom would rather I do soft tunes all the time. I respect her for that and do oblige her often. But deep down inside there's a rage that burns like nothing else can to get out and express itself with volume, distortion, and the wildest flesh-melting tones I can come up with.
I sometimes catch a glimpse of the pioneers such as Charlie Christian, Clarence Brown, Django R., Jimi H., Segovia, this list has no end,,, and I soak up what they were doing back then and try to emulate it in some way. I don't think I'm ever successful, but nonetheless, I really try to feel it.
I've been called many names in my life. From across the spectrum, nigger, black mother fucker, spook, beaner, spic, this list goes on as well. My heritage spans many races, but my soul spans only the human race. I have little or no regard for the racist element on this earth. Racism comes from everywhere and leads to nowhere.
Most of my family listens to R&B, soul, funk, rap, etc. But a few listen to Metal, blues, and even classical. I listen to it all. I respect them and everyone else for whatever they listen to. Give me a choice and it will be something loud!
These days the music industry is shaking a bit from the threat of indie unsigned and unknowns getting exposure and eating away at the base of their profits. In desperation they now pull out the dirty pool trick of acts they've held back on. These artists are very talented and the music is new and for the most part unheard. I'm sure they would have been bigger long ago without the big companies.
I'm not Hendrix. I'm just me. An unknown artist who believes in what he feels inside and tries to share it. I don't expect fame or fortune but it would be nice to have a bathroom I can play baseball in.[;-)] the worst thing anyone can do as an artist is limit their "expression-form" to an ethnic narrow-mindedness. As for myself, I believe that just because light has a visible spectrum, that does not mean that that's all there is to the spectrum.
I will always be, LOUD! I will always be, PROUD! And, I will always be, PUSHING BACK THE CLOUDS!
Jose' Luis Diaz/LEGASYS

This just a reminder to you, that dollar for dollar is still the best place to debut your original material. For a truly small amount of money you get a place from which to sell your product, upc codes, a website you can customize for a small monthly fee, and the best bar none in advice and tips on how to make the most of every moment you put into your musical endeavors. was the stepping stone for my own music and without it I would not be heard by as many people as I am today.
My list of friends’ world wide has grown exponentially. I’ve enjoyed music you cannot find in the narrow confines of the mainstream. I have branched out to many other websites, but I still debut all my new stuff from (With a few exceptions for pod cast like Les Lewellyns’
The music industry can be unforgiving. You will only ever get out of it what you put into it. If you expect the world without working for it you will be disappointed. I expect nothing. I’m happy turning out my music to my taste and if the world wants to listen they are all more than welcome.
I’d like to acknowledge the help I’ve received from many individuals. Jesse De La O, Les Lewellyn, Robert Cetl, Derek Sivers, Adam West, Kenny the gardener, there are far too many individuals to name them all here but my thanks goes out to them all.
Here comes 2007. I’m hard at work on my 5th cd and hope to release it sometime in the early part of next year. The inspiration for it comes from many of the friends I’ve made in the past year. I hope they can see what effect they’ve had on my writing and understand that true friends need never meet to affect each others lives.
Although what’s left of my heart is a cold shell filled with darkness, when I tell you “God Bless”,
I really mean it.
Stay Loud! Stay Proud!! And keep Pushing Back The Clouds!

Laura T Lynch of

Guitar heavy !
Diaz's music is a mix of metal, rock and prog. Guitars are the focal point on his latest twelve-track collection. Jose explains that the album has a concept with lyrics based on the idea that "anything that exist can die and decay in any multitude of ways". Although the content may be dark the journey does rock. Jose, who works full time at an oilfield, plays music because he wants to. He brings energy and passion to his diverse compositions. Diaz's songs show a lot of potential and he could be quite formidable with a band and studio production. 'Disintegration' opens the CD in high metal style with soaring guitar leads layered over deep, bass lines and dark vocalization. The title track is also an attention grabber with its scary, sizzling guitars melding with a driving rhythm and graphical lyrics. Death and Decay is a guitar heavy CD facing the reality of disintegration.
