Album Notes

It's All The Acoustic Pop You Can Drink.™

This 22-year-old singer/songwriter is here to give you a musical experience.

How does he intend to do that? "Well, through melodies that'll still be swimming in your head when you wake up the next morning and lyrics that paint the magical moments of your life," Josh says. "A lot of times, music is escapism. For whatever reason, we resonate with the buzz of guitar strings and catchy melodies and they take us to a place where we can forget about all the stuff in our lives that we'd like to forget about for awhile." Josh Allan calls his music genre acoustic pop, and it's characterized by passionate vocals and distinctive, precise guitar riffs. And love. And fun. Josh Allan brings a refreshingly rustic, yet refined light to pop music.

A comparison? "If John Mayer and Michelle Branch had a kid - musically speaking, anyway - that's what I'd sound like," Josh says. "It's all the acoustic pop you can drink." Josh promises that listening to his music won't ever be painful, like those depression-inducing, directionless, crooning artists. "You know, the ones that it just hurts to sit through even two songs? Yeah, it won't ever be like that. This is music you'll want to experience again and again."

Josh has performed in small venues from Denver to Detroit to Boston, opened for national artists such as Sister Hazel and Alice Peacock, and has had two of his songs featured in Denver radio interviews and programs. "Some songwriters write songs as a personal experience, you know - as some kind of catharsis. My songs have always been written to be heard. And that's where you come in!"

After a short stint on the island of Martha's Vineyard where Josh recorded his demo and 5-song release The Island Sessions EP, Josh is back in sunny Colorado. And he's ready to play! "This music thing doesn't work if people stop listening, you know. So if you happen to be one of those people who loves listening to good music, you're in luck - because I love playing it!"

Residing in the heart of Denver and taking on Colorado's local scene one music lover at a time, Josh Allan is looking for you.

Return the favor. We think you'll like what you hear.

Refreshingly Melodic, Josh Allan Brings a Warmth to the Starving Pop Scene
author: Quite the Critic
It's not overproduced, it's not altered...but it is awfully accurate and melodic and beautiful. Allan's voice is free and his hooks engaging. There is a sense of sitting in an intimate coffehouse when listening to his stripped-down tracks as well as a sense of enjoying a concert in a smaller venue on his fuller tracks. This guy could really go somewhere!
