Album Notes

“Home of the the the” is about the differed meaning of modern life. Through their relationships and their friendship they explore the ambiguity of language. Shamelessly joyful, the duo relishes in wordplay, pop hooks, and prevailing drums.

Josh & Anand is Josh Lindgren and Anand Balasubrahmanyan. The duo formed in 2004 when the Grinnell College Housing Committee decided in its infinite wisdom that these two moderately clean non-smokers were destined to be together – or at the very least that they would be reasonably well suited to share a room for an academic year.
They immediately started band with a borrowed drum set, bass guitar, and friend/friend's megaphone. The immediate result was interesting at best. Then on October 29th at around 10pm, an event occurred that would change Josh and Anand's band for the foreseeable future. They saw The Blow. Khaela Maricich's homemade electro-pop provided them with a new lexicon. Josh Lindgren and Anand Balasubrahmanyan were left reeling.
Over the next four years, the band built a keytar, played in the fire station of 400-population town in exchange for cupcakes, recorded a few EP's and a record, opened for Dan Deacon, PWRFL POWER, High Places, and even The Blow, and graduated from college.
In 2008, Anand and Josh moved to Seattle. It was here that they produced the album “Home of the the the” with the help Lake Union Recording and Close-Far Studios.
Josh and Anand continue to live together.
