Tom's Bio

Hi, my name is Tom

And I have an idea I think is worth listening to and acting on if you choose to do so.

My hobby and passion is writing Christian song lyrics.

It’s what I do when I am not working for the Postal Service where I’ve been for the last 19 years. I started by writing poetry/lyrics sharing with friends and family, and posting them on Christian chat forums where I was encouraged to continue writing.

I am interested in reaching more people with my writing and I’ve noticed that a few people will read a poem but many more will listen to a good song.

So I set some goals for myself.

1. Learn how to write song lyrics, which is a challenge since I do not write music, the only instruments I play are the Bongos and the blues harmonica

2. Find someone to collaborate with that can write, sing, play music and produce a song

3. Get my songs played by radio stations

4. Market my songs

I was fortunate enough to find some good local talent with Josh Caldwell an artist and producer who can do it all and Tim Dolbear who has a great talent for mixing and producing music.

Together we produced five contemporary Christian songs that I think are just awesome.

I have some radio stations in mind that I plan to submit my songs to, but I decided that I needed to work on my marketing strategy first.

Which brings me to where we are now-MARKETING.

Marketing is tough, I’d much rather just write lyrics and collaborate on songs, but it was pointed out to me, if I wasn’t willing to work the business side of music, my songs wouldn't go very far. So I decided that I if my heart was going to be in it then I would have to combine the music I love with something else that I cared about.

Well, I think children are worth caring about, especially needy children. So I sent a proposal to***Feed The Children***explaining how I wanted to offer my songs in exchange for a donation to help feed hungry children.

My offer was approved and they agreed to partner with me on this project. So now you can you can ***buy a song and feed a child*** with all of profits going to feed the children.
