Album Notes

Josh Fox

Raised in Humboldt County, CA, Josh learned the art of musical worship at a young age. His mother would strum her twelve-string guitar and sing love songs to God late at night, while his father, who couldn’t stay on key to save his life, belted out praise choruses during house church worship sessions.

When Josh was nineteen years old he began leading worship with a high school ministry in San Diego. He couldn’t quite sing and play guitar at the same time, a fact which led to some train wreck worship sets. He later moved north and began leading worship for the youth of Santa Cruz Bible Church where he teamed in ministry with Dan Kimball. Five years later, Josh and Dan began noticing that many of their former high school students dropped out of church life following graduation. This reality, along with a desire to create a church gathering that better reflected a postmodern, experiential culture, inspired the two leaders to begin the Graceland worship services. In four years, Graceland grew to over 1,000 people in its weekly attendance, with the majority of the congregation consisting of people in their early twenties. Josh and Dan have recently planted a new church called Vintage Faith Church, where Josh continues to lead worship weekly.

Josh has recently released a five song EP titled “Under The Mercy.” Josh recorded that most recent EP in Nashville with Tom Laune (Passion, Matt Redman, Michael W. Smith) mixing and producing, and Jason Ingram (Joy Williams, Rebeccah St. James, SonicFlood, Building 429) also producing. Josh's previous work includes a local worship project called "Enter the Atmosphere," a studio recording comprised almost entirely of original material.

Josh has led worship at the main sessions for YS National Youth Workers Convention, where David Crowder and Chris Tomlin have led as well. You can learn more about Josh by visiting www.joshfoxmusic.com or myspace.com/joshfoxmusicbaby
