Album Notes

Make It Snappy - 11 song debut release by Josh Max's Outfit. Make It Snappy was born out of a demand from the fans who had seen JMO's amazing live show. An all acoustic act with a slammin' electric sound. A beautiful plus-size singer who could be heard with no microphone in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut all at once. A rockabilly cat writing all the material and providing burning licks as well as sweet acoustic stylings. A drop-dead gorgeous female standup bassist. A drummer who brings a syncopatronic technibilical excellence to Josh Max's Outfit's raw sound In the year and half the band has been together, they've gone from playing open mikes to appearing at such top NYC clubs as fans Fez, CB's Gallery, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Roseland Ballroom and others as well as weddings, parties, colleges and other fun gigs. This album was originally meant to be a demo--the disc took all of 5 hours to record, plus some overdubs---but people who heard it said they HAD to put it out as an album. So the band mixed it, mastered it, made up a cover and presto! Instant fun, 11 songs of all speeds, emotions and melodies you can actually sing! Make It Snappy!

I bought this CD in order to play the size-positive song "I Like A Whole Lot of Woman" on my Health At Every Size radio show on Radio Free Nashville. I love the whole CD. "Silent Movie" is especially good.

This CD is so much fun, but if you ever get them chance to see them live, don't miss it! Julie's voice is from the gods and Josh's handling of the guitar is incredible. I love Julie and Josh!

Everyone can learn from this great CD
author: Marci Daniels
I read that this CD was recorded as a demo and put out as an album. What a great example of outstanding material, lyrics and vocals done with bass, drums and guitar. I've heard albums produced for $100,000 that aren't as good as this. Just goes to show money doesn't equal good music, and lack of money doesn't equal a bad album.
