I received my CD from CDbaby as soon as Inception was released.  GREAT service and i'm so glad your company supports great artists like Josh Smith.
This CD is so unique.  It's jazzy, bluesy and intelligent.  Josh is a master guitarist who should be heard!  I've seen him perform at least a dozen times and this latest work is really representative of who he is as an artist.  Talented, intelligent and most of all he is a master at getting that guitar to sing to his audience.  Highly recommend 'Deep Roots' too.

Yes, the instrumentals on this cd are oustanding, and Josh's technical skills are on display across an unexpectedly broad range of genres. The man can just plain play.

However, technique is not what sold me on this album.  It's the emotional maturity and content of these original songs that has me hitting the replay button.  Somehow, whether the influence is country, soul, rock, or blues, Josh is able to infuse each song with an emotion that feels honest and true.

I don't think that maturity like this comes at the beginning; I think a better title for this album would be "Arrived".

This is a wonderful instrumental rock album, but it's not just rock.  Josh Smith has created an album with rock, blues, jazz and even a little bit of bluegrass.  It's great for chillin' or for road trips, morning, noon, and night.
