Album Notes

Jovert, a play on the carnival term "Jouvet," or "to play," is the perfect name for the Tucson High Steel Band. Made up of over 30 students at an arts magnet high school in Tucson, Arizona, Jovert's New Beginnings explores a new realm of steel band music.

The album's 17 songs feature standards such as "Bird Boy", "Jammin'", "Party in Session" and "Try Jah Love" but also original tunes, written specifically for these groups (e.g. "Broken Time" and "Monkey Named Calypso").

this cd is definitely one of the best put together of the steel drums. I live in New York and on my trip to a street fair in Tucson I saw these guys.AMAZING PERFORMANCE STYLE! this group is one to hear but to see perform, priceless.now Jovert has an entire section in my cd's with there newest releases. keep up the good work
