Adventure Music announces the new US release by Brazilian pianist and
composer Jovino Santos Neto.
After receiving 2 Latin Grammy nominations in 2004 and 2006, Jovino has
returned to Brazil to record a new CD with all original material, inspired
by the musical universe of Northeastern Brazil. Composed after a research
trip through the region in 2007, the music was recorded in Rio de Janeiro by
Jovino, accompanied by great Brazilian musicians such as Toninho Ferragutti
(accordion), Carlos Malta, Marcelo Martins and Eduardo Neves (woodwinds),
Marcio Bahia (drums), Gabriel Grossi (harmonica) and several others.
After establishing a solid reputation as one of the most important creators
in contemporary Brazilian jazz, Jovino once again brings his characteristic
blend of energetic grooves, deep harmonies, lyrical melodies and great
ensemble playing to the new disc. He explores several musical styles of the
Brazilian northeast in his new compositions, including baião, xote, forró,
marcha and many more. This release will certainly please all lovers of jazz,
Brazilian and Latin music.
