Album Notes

jp born in central Kenya, attended kamandura primary school and limuru town school. Atended Gitithia secondary school between 1981/1984. Also attended universal college and Kenya institute of clearing and forwarding in 1985/1986.

In march 1986 j.p. recorded aciara ningatho/kahungura using school fees.Because of his meager resources he was unable to promote the songs hence after graduating moved to mombasa, in such of a job in the ports. The going was tough and the singer ended up selling sukumawiki in mwembetayari market and later kongowea.

In 1990 jp formed matata matamu stars band and started performing in various places and entertaining tourist in mombasa. In 1991 jp came back to nairobi and recorded ten songs hence producing his first cassette entitled aciaria ningatho. Come 1992 and the euphoria for muiltiparty locked the country and almost every musician was singing for his favorite party.

This time jp composed and recorded murathi wa kihooto a political song which was a tribute for mwai kibaki's D.P. party and a warning to dictator moi.It was a major sale but also made the musician to encounter animosity with authorities. In 1996 jp fled Kenya to u.s.a. for exile. In 2001 jp recorded his third C.D. Ndikwenda kigacwa which include hits like kwaheri kenya and uhiki wa jp and so many others. Curently jp is working on his forth cd.

This cd has gone a great depth in trying to sensitize the people of what they actually do everyday but they do the wrong way. Its time they should stop and look at better ways of embracing change,TRUTHFULLY.The artist is doing a good job once again representing the unheard masses and the unexploited talents.I would pray that you keep it up, since you are this far.
