Album Notes

James Parkington is a singer and songwriter who enjoys making music for the fun of it. Whether it’s a western wind blowing in or a sunrise on the big blue horizon, there’s a melody to go along with every little adventure. It just keeps changing.

Shine Blue is mostly a collection of songs written after a move from San Francisco to New Hampshire in 2006 with one carryover (“31st Street”) from his days with the ever-elusive SF band, Eight Track Derby (a mellower version of the song “31st Street Odyssey”). “Sunflowers” is an instrumental featuring James’ mom, Joanne on violin. “Sail Home” is a song written by James’ uncle David Parkington, who can be found in a sunset over Sunkin Meadow Bay on Cape Cod.
