Album Notes

The long awaited follow-up to his 2003 debut CD has arrived. Nearly four years in the making, Florida’s Jimmy Parrish & The Ocean Waves Band has just released a brand new, all-original collection of island tunes that’ll take you on a musical cruise down to the Bahamas, then further on down to the islands of the Caribbean.

After years of spending several months out at sea performing on cruise ships along with many frequent voyages to the vast islands of the Bahamas, Jimmy’s fascination and love for the ocean and island life has been captured in the music of “Let’s Go Fishin”.

In addition to innovative, contemporary trop-rock island tunes like “Where’s the Tequila”, you’ll hear good ‘ol fishing music in the title track, “Let’s Go Fishin’” inspired by the many days and nights in Marsh Harbour, Abacos. Reggae more your style? You’ll get a healthy dose in “Caribbean Jerk”. Authentic Latin comes to life in the intricate upbeat instrumental “Manana `en Madrid”, and charming island ballads like “The Promenade" and even a little southern influence in “Here Today Gone Tomorrow” offer a variety of musical styles that’ll have you itching to jump on a boat and head to the islands!.

If you like Buffett-style island music, then this one's a must-have for playing on the boat, around the pool, outside on the deck, or any time you feel inclined to fire up the blender.

Just a note…...Downloads are a good value plus you get your music right then and there. If you think you might make this purchase however, consider getting the actual CD. It contains all the sing-along lyrics, plus you’ll get to meet the band as well as check out some really cool tropical landscape photos straight from the islands. It’ll be worth the wait!

Good news....This CD is also available on iTunes!

Echoing other reviews, it is rare that I buy a CD that I enjoy each and every song. It is always a pleasure to stumble across a gem like this CD. This is as Trop-Rock as it gets and should really be considered a must have for all hard core Parrot Heads. I know I am eagerly awaiting the next CD from Jimmy!

Jimmy Parrish and the Ocean Waves Band have brought Trop-Rock back to the forefront of the music world. The CD “Let’s Go Fishing” is a fresh taste of what made Jimmy Buffet famous. My three favorite songs are “Ocean Waves”,” Where’s The Tequila” and the Latin/Flamenco style tune “Manana en Madrid”. The guitar work of Dustin Barber is fabulous on this piece .
