Album Notes

Bio...hmmm. What shall I say? Music\'s great! I really like it...alot. In fact, I enjoy it so much, that I\'ve spent my life emersed in it. I\'ve made a modest career out of it, playing and singing in every kind of bar, nightclub, restaurant, and hotel, doing every kind of party or event where music is on the agenda for years. I\'m also in the studio quite a bit, doing everything from original projects, my personal favorite, to corporate backup tracks, radio spots, and jingles.

I play and sing different styles...everything from jazz, pop, and R&B to, well, I guess I should say country since I am from Texas. I like all types of music from all eras, starting with great composers like Chopin, Scriabin, and Debussy. Cole Porter, Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington, the Gershwin brothers, Henry Mancini, and Hoagy Carmichael are favorites. I love amazing jazz composers and performers like Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Thelonius Monk, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Jaco Pastorius, and Horace Silver. Spent lots of time checking out Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty, and Pink Floyd. And nothing sends me over the edge quicker than breathtaking vocals the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Chaka Khan, Joe Williams, Alison Krauss, Gladys Knight, Ann Wilson, Janis Jophlin, Chris Cornell, and Donny Hathaway. I love the great modern bands and performers such as Radiohead, Ani DiFranco, Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, and Tori Amos. Basically, I listen to everything. So, if you ask, \"Jennifer, who are your influences?\" I\'d have to say, \"Really, I\'m influenced by everybody that I dig.\" When I play and write, I try to merge all these elements of pop, classical, jazz, rock, R&B, and electronic to form, hopefully, a unique style.

I\'ve had the privilege of working with really talented people. It\'s crazy the amount of musical ability that exists just here in Dallas, TX. My goal is to learn and get better and make a positive contribution to the art form. I\'ve got a loooong way to go. So, I move ahead, looking for the next cool musical situation to be a part of, one that will challenge, inspire, and force me to grow.
