Born and raised in New York City, John Richard has been studying the guitar and mandolin since age 6. His teacher from that time has been Carmen Mastren, arranger & guitarist from the Big Band era, who played with such greats as Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey. John has developed his own style on his debut cd, playing jazz/blues guitar instrumentals blended with classical rhythms.
John has also collected some NY City's hottest session players like Paul Adamy on bass, Jay Dittamo on drums and Arkady Kofman on horns to round out his band. His cd also features vocalist, Dana, on three tunes, which he wrote, showcasing his songwriting abilities.

The sound is great!
author: Denise McGuinnessI loved the music. I enjoyed the songs and already have about five favorites. Not only am I buying it for myself, I am buying it for a present for my Dad. He loves jazz, new sounds, and great guitar playing. This album has all three! It is perfect for a music lover who is hard to buy for.
