JR is a dedication record. John Rush and I had writen and performed music from a early age and shared the same interests in life and experimentation. He had been more involved with bands playing in bars before we started our first band together, but over the years after highschool in the 80's he would go away to college in Portland only to return inbetween off time. Unfortunately he developed some bad addictions in the west coast only to return years later to clean up. We spent a great four years recording and spending time together discussing performing the music we had started. There was a side group we at the time which included the original drummer from our first band. With so many wonderful years of memories of the past, the present goes by a little bit easier, but until heroine caught up with John, my life changed dramatically. So, I finished this record on my own. John played a fender jazz bass, gibson flying v, double neck lap steel and some synthesizer on this recording. I have collected synths, organs, pianos and other devices for the past 20 years. I have played and recorded music for many years alone, and with very many different friends in bands. I wrote music for piano at an early age, but progressed into the use of electronic instruments. I've been a session player for very many recordings within the past 15 years, only now to have finally released , "Fit to Burn". This record is entirely instrumental and has variable paths to enjoy within its contents. It starts out more active with beats in the material then half way through the record it is more mellow and meditative throughout. Please listen to the soundbites and write a review of what you experienced. My interests in this style of writing and recording provide the listener with a visual landscape of rhythm and texture. The direction of my writing moves constantly with the revolving artists in Milwaukee, but JR is a personal travel of a long relationship between two individuals that have been involved with similar interests of musical sensibilities. Of course the many influences of past composers and artists have played a major role in my own success. Other pieces of music are available from my catalog of recordings so if you have any questions please email me through cdbaby. Please enjoy this recording for its textures, influences, composition and the use of particular instruments. The next album is coming soon. Thank you. sticky...and remember, always cruise the galaxy...
