Jimmy Roberts grew up on Virginia listening to the many sounds of R&B and Jazz; Ranging in styles from the funky and percussive, to the hard blowing sax sounds of Maceo Parker, Stanley Turentine and Junior Walker.

Jimmy also enjoyed listening to the smoother side of Jazz, found in the many playing styles of the Godfather of Smooth Jazz; Grover Washington, Jr.

Somewhere while listening to these legends of music, Jimmy found his own sound, one that is hard driving and funky, yet smooth with a trademark tone that is unmistakably soulful and unmatchingly....Jimmy Roberts.

Jimmy has performed with many greats of the music business spanning many genres of music; from the pop rock world of Rod Stewart to the Smooth Jazz stage of Sade, Rick Braun, Jeff Golub and many others.
