Album Notes

At age 14, Jon Robert Quinn picked the guitar up for the first time. At 17, he made two great accomplishments. First, he graduated from High School. Second, he wrote, recorded and released "New Faces". Well, was supposed to release "New Faces". It never happened. It just sat in his personal cd collection for 5 years. Now after all that time, we have decided to finally have it released.

"New Faces" features 6 interesting and captivating tracks. From the jazzy sound of "Missing You" to the rock sounds of "New Faces". Jon Robert Quinn combines the sound of guitar and vocals on "Lost Love" and "Lifts Us High". Jon has always been very spiritual and his christian influences brought out christian lyrics on this cd.

For a guy that was playing the guitar for 3 years before he recorded this record, it's pretty darn good.

------------------------

Here's a breakdown of each song from the mind of Jon Robert Quinn.

INTRO - This was recorded so many years ago, I really cannot remember the influence or direction of this song. I remember I was playing my very first Ibanez JS-100 guitar. I have had about a half of dozen of them since then.

LIFTS US HIGH - When I was in Highschool, I attended church twice a week. Today my schedule is very busy as I travel for business a lot and cannot make it. This song was one of many at the time that had a christian influence. Still to this day, this is a great song. Every now and again I will bring this song and perform it live.

NEW FACES - This is a great tune. Notice how I used the same beginning in this song as I did on Missing You from the One Long Road CD. Also, there is another song on One Long Road that is called Missing You. No they arent the same songs. When One Long Road was recorded and released, we had no intention of officially re-releasing this CD. This CD is historic to me and is my foundation to the CDs I release today. One day it came to me that I had to officially re-release the CD. We remixed the CD and sent it to the distributors to get it out there.

LOST LOVE - Knowing me, this song was written about a girlfriend of mine. Typically when I write love songs, they are about events in my life. That being said, I don't remember who it was about. I remember however when this CD was complete, I worked at Baskin Robbins at the time and for weeks, I would play the CD for the patrons eating. The reaction from the public was pretty good. A young guy at 17 years old with a dream trying to make it happen. Here's a little secret about this song. All of the guitars were recorded by micing the amps. I usually run direct into the computer to reduce noise. There is a point in the song that you hear my watch beep at the 1:01 mark. At the time, I was going to re-record the song, but never did.

SOUNDS OF HEAVEN - Another song that I don't remember the direction of the song. The song is pretty though.

History behind the artwork.

The picture was taken in 2000 in Pacific Grove, California. I went down to Monterey to visit my mother, being 17 at the time, I didn't have professional photographers to take my photos. We stopped at a Target store on the way and bought a new pair of shoes, pants and shirt for the shoot. Oh, and the camera was a disposable camera. I think the photo came out pretty good given the circumstances. No photoshop editting needed for this picture.

Good talent and music

I have three of Jon's cd's. This was a bit unpolished but you can hear bits of his amasing natural talent. Be sure to check out his other cd though. They're very good.
