"JeRQ THIS TOO! 8=D" is an extension of the "JeRQ THIS!" CD released in November of 2005. This CD takes you on a wild ride with MORE High-Energy Instrumental guitar but also includes something not usually heard from Jon Robert Quinn. This CD features vocals from the man himself and has also included a couple Live tracks as well.
Hear "Rhythm of the City" and "JeRQ THIS!" recorded Live from shows in 2005. "Rhythm of the City" was released in Jan 04 on the "Solo-Fisticated" CD and "JeRQ THIS!" was released on last November's "JeRQ THIS!".
Lyrics and vocals are by Jon Robert Quinn on two tracks, "There's a Woman" & "Her and Me".
------------------------
Here's a breakdown of each song from the mind of Jon Robert Quinn.
AWEPRA - Awepra, pronouned Opera is a musical journey through the different dynamics of the song. I wanted the song to have a heavy beat and bass line, but still feature great guitar work and solos.
FIRE & ICE - Like fire and ice, there are 2 sides. This song has two sides. It starts off melodic with a heavy beat, but delicate piano and guitar. Even into the first chorus, its still cold. Its not until about half way through the song that it gets hot. Once the fire comes out, the song takes a turn with beautiful orchestrated guitar work.
FOR THE ONES WE LOVE - This song was actually written and recorded during the making of JeRQ THIS but was never released. It was actually cut from the line up for JeRQ THIS because we didn't think it would suit that record well. For JeRQ THIS TOO, we thought this was a perfect spot for the song. This song was performed live months before JeRQ THIS TOO was even released. The reaction from the public was enormous.
GLORY - Glory was originally on the JeRQ THIS TOO. This was a very fun song to record. This song was never actually written. I had just bought a new guitar and mixing board and wanted to try them out. It was Christmas eve and they were my Christmas presents to myself. I plugged the gear in and went back to a track that I was building but really had no direction as to where I was taking the song. As I recall, it was one take. I pressed record on the computer, started the track and started playing. When it was finished, all the song needed was a final EQ. I loved what I had just created. I have tried learning the song and performing it, but no matter what I do, it has never come out as good as this recording.
HER & ME - This is another love story. Looking at the placement of song today, I think it would've fit better on The Road to Hammerlane. Do you have a person you love? Learn these words and sing them to your boyfriend or girlfriend. Simply a beautiful song.
LISTEN TO THE MARTIANS - I thought the wah pedal in this song sounded like little aliens, so I called it Listen To The Martians. I got reviewed once that I spelled Martians wrong. If its wrong, oh well, you get the point. If you like the song, I don't think the mispelling of the name will affect what you think of the song. I love this song and its a blast to play.
RIDDLE RIDE - About a year after I picked the guitar for the first time, I came up with the riff used in the intro to the song. For 10 years, I fiddled with the riff until something finally clicked one day. Riddle Ride was born. This is one of the best songs on the CD. It was also voted best Jon Robert Quinn song on iTunes at one time.
THERE'S A WOMAN - Here's a little Blues Rock for you. It talks about a guy that wherever he goes, this one woman is following him. Its never happened to me, but I am sure its happened to somebody else.
RHYTHM OF THE CITY (LIVE) - Rhythm Of The City has a special place in the hearts of my fans because wherever I go to play and I start this song, the audience cheers. They love this song. This song was also the first track on my first Official CD Release, Solo-Fisticated.
JeRQ THIS (LIVE) - A Live version of the song JeRQ THIS off of the 2005 album of a same name. One day in 2004, somebody online called me a jerk using my initials JRQ, spelling it JeRQ. So when recording the follow up record to One Long Road, I needed a good name for it. JeRQ kind of stuck with me, but I couldnt just name it JeRQ. So what about JeRQ THIS. Everybody I talked to about it loved it. From that point on I havent looked back. While recording the record, I needed a really wild song that would get the crowd going while on tour. I thought a song with the same name would be good. JeRQ THIS was born.

History behind the artwork.
Take a look at the album cover. In the top right corner, you will see 8=D. Somebody once showed me that. With a title JeRQ THIS TOO, I had to put it there. If you don't know what it is, look at it again. If you still don't know what it is, just smile and keep listening to the music. Thanks for listening.
