Like a misfit at a party given by madmen, Joe Ray Realité rubs up against the scene around him, and, aroused but not gratified, goes home to spill his seed on the fertile soil of his singular imagination. The music that pokes up, from the darkness and dirt, has it's roots in early US & British rock and pop, but with branches that twist and stretch beyond the past to create a sound firmly planted in the post modern world.
Moody lyrics that speak of observance, as much as cynicism, are caught up in the gnarled mingling of sometimes jangling, sometimes crunchy guitars, driving bass and techno-primitive drum beats. Various electronic knots and whirls supply extra texture.
The fruit of all this metaphorically woody stuff (it's faux-wood, with a nanocarbon undercarriage) are songs about the textures of the world today, from stories of miscreants of the home world to tales of vacationing visitors from beyond.
And when autumn comes and the leaves fall, Joe Ray picks the fruit, mashes it into jewel cases, and flings the whole bittersweet delicious mess from the uppermost limbs.
For a few bucks each, of course.

Multi-layered catchy rockin tunes meticulously and elegantly executed
author: m flannery
Although names like Bowie and Byrne come to mind, Joe Ray Realite is truly sui-generis. Listening to his CD is like going on a fun weird trip. The lyrics are wild and the tunes catchy. I have to say I like EVERY cut. They run a wide gaumt of styles: from lyrical string beds under elegant electric guitar solos (FINE NAILS) to get-up-and-dance raw rockers (GET LOST). The multi-layered arrangements are well thought out and meticulously executed. All in all, this is a first-rate debut. Rock on Mr. Realite!!! My friends and I await the next installment of this one-man musical journey.
