JS (Joerg Sommermeyer) started at the tender age of ten with a dust-ridden 'beater' Harmony six-string acoustic dreadnought passed down from his father. While growing up in South Germany he first cut his teeth every evening around sundown while playing for his family. Later, he played in a band, hit the local scene and studied classical guitar with Victor von Hasselmann and Anton Stingl.
Eclecticist in the positive sense, in broadest terms between Classical Music, Blues, Country, Folk, Rock, transforming himself into the entire variation of styles, with elements of Jazz, without fear of venturing into Pop, for the past five years, JS (Joerg Sommermeyer)
has been performing with his group The Black Djemba.
The band has enjoyed playing to their ever-increasing following in the Southern Germany Area and has gotten favourable reviews. Their material seems to be ever changing and hard to pin down categorically. What always remains the same is the exceptional and wide-ranging musical personality of JS (Joerg Sommermeyer).
Besides Joerg Sommermeyer is the author of the antinovel "ANTON UNBEKANNT",
"Pat[(h) o/a] physischer Antiroman, Tragigroteskenfragment”, published in December 2008.
'Those Rocks & Lieders', the second release by JS (Joerg Sommermeyer) continues in his unique assorted style with poetic lyrics and colourful imagery.
The collection of 16 pieces, that present a common thread of expression using lyrical songs as well as instrumentals, provides you with a unique combination of acoustic and ambient recordings with occasional poignant lyrics and colourful imagery.
Tracks include acoustic guitar, vocals, harmonica, electric guitar, piano, bass and percussion.
**Weiss Nicht** was #1 on the BeSonic.com Songwriter Chart for a number of weeks!
And most of the other songs from this disc were (are) as well in the Charts on BeSonic.com and (MusicLeague) Musikliga.de!!!
BeSonic Scout Strehl Music about Rocking Bachs Bourrée: "In fact, I do remember the version of Jethro Tull...but here we are in the year 2525, a jewel but NOT easy listening...interesting!!!"
Mal was anderes, Gell!"
Interessant...!!"

Una representación importantísima del rock europeo
author: Maria Mercedes Soler-Delgado, Madrid
Ahora mismo estoy escuchando "Schicke Kleinigkeiten" y "Bleib Ein Bisschen Länger". Me encantan estas songs.

Sticks in your mind
author: Ruth Mitchell, London
One can hardly fail to recognize how historical and eclectic almost all popular forms of music have become at the end of the 20th century. Fears that things will calm down are misplaced. Extensive eclecticist in the positive sense is JS, in broadest terms between Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk, Country, Pop, Chanson, (german) Lied, transforming himself into the entire variation of styles.
His (german) lyrics of the Lieders are really outstanding!
The good mix of a high quality in every respect, one time spontaneous, another time wild, sometimes moderate, then sophisticated, sticks in your mind and stands the test of being played over and over again.
