Album Notes

Guitarist Stephen Bennett is joined by his brother Jim, a wonderful pianist, for a collaboration entitled BROTHERS. The 12 tunes contained on this 2007 cd range from rollicking to reflective and were all written by one or the other, or both, brothers. From the opening tune - A Stomp - to the closing piece - For Blacksburg, which is an elegy for the April massacre at Virginia Tech- this recording is a collection of spirited duets. Stephen plays acoustic guitar, slide guitar and harp guitar while Jim utilizes a gorgeous Steinway grand.
