From the streets of Chicago, J-SELF began breakdancing to music from various hip-hop icons like KRS-ONE, ERIC B & RAKIM,BUSTA RHYMES and many others. A barber by trade, J-SELF used his earnings to finance his first EP. J-SELF then began to align himself with the movers and shakers of the industry to score numerous performances for some of the biggest names in hip-hop. He has opened concerts/shows for Busta Rhymes, Eve, Elephant Man, and even Jay Z's after concert party in Chicago. J-SELF didn't stop there, he has put Chicago on notice by winning the 107.5 WGCI "FRESHEST MC CONTEST" and having his hit single "SAY WHAT" placed in heavy rotation with local DJ's.Shortly afterwards, SELF set Michigan on FIRE, then went to Atlanta and won 1st place in the mil. dollar music & radio fest! Today J-SELF is a permanent staple on the music and entertainment scene with his face on commercials, as well as top rated cable shows like "REAL FLAVA TV". Currently J-SELF is co-starring in a cable comedy series sitcom about the music industry, marketing HOT NEW REMIXES, and blazin intro,s for radio station djs.
