Jesse Sterling Harrison is one of America's most prolific and inventive singer/songwriters, with so many solo releases he has to pause to count when asked how many there are. This offering finds Harrison in blazing full-band form, with a crack rhythm section and spitfire guitar work backing up a set of rock-focused songs. But as always, Harrison throws a few curveballs along the way, in the case the deeply allegorical acoustic poem "How Could You Do This to Me?", the apocalyptic chronicle "Stone Bull" and the tongue-in-cheek superhero raveup "White Spider". The album is packed with filthy guitar tones, singing leads worthy of Jimmy Page, riveting vocals, and strong songwriting statements from front to back.

A main strength of Jesse Harrison's music is his distinctive vocals and his words are literate and strong. There's a positivity in his songs; he's not a torchbearer with a "message" but there's a clear sense of strength behind his voice. A sense of health. And he is prolific too, the guy has about 10 albums since the mid 1990's. "Any Alright Man" is a straight ahead solid rock song that i challenge anyone to write! These home based recordings find Jesse with a strong backing band, and it sounds more like a collection of songs by a band than a solo guy bringing along his friends. I dig it. (Disclaimer - I am biased because I have one or two of his songs I have covered in my own live sets & albums)
