Right here, right now, the solid Earth is moving under your feet. Earthquakes, storms, and ocean waves all contribute to a chorus of imperceptibly slow vibrations that ripple across the planet’s surface and deep into its vast interior. Sound artist/seismologist JT Bullitt takes recordings of these natural subsonic vibrations, as captured by a global network of digital seismographs, and transposes them into high-quality multichannel audio. The three stereo selections on this CD offer a sampler of the true sounds of planet Earth.
