notes
Check what the critics are saying. This isn't your typical folk act. The Clouds dish out roots rock injected with a touch of Memphis soul. This is a sound born in the Midwest bar scene, refined in the Bay Area folk clubs, and now hardened by the funk of Chicago, the band's adopted home. "Delilah" places JT & The Clouds squarely in the new wave of roots music up and comers, and places Jeremy Lindsay among the rising stars of American songwriting.
Guest artists include James Nash and Chojo Jaques of The Waybacks. The Be Good Tanyas have covered the song "Scattered Leaves," and the Clouds' own version was featured on NPR's All Songs considered. "How You Left Me" has been licensed for an upcoming Lions Gate film, "Man Thing."
2004 highlights included constant touring in the Midwest, a live performance on the legendary California roots station KPIG, and the band's NYC debut at the Living Room.
The band's traditional influences range from the country rock of The Band and Gram Parsons, to the big city beat of Prince. We like to call this Country Soul, and after one listen we think that you'll hear why. Welcome aboard.
"Half boogie piano, half Memphis soul, plus another half of folky swing . . . they put soul into the white roots sound." (Americana UK)
"Each tune is a finely toned exercise in melodic precision." (Knoxville News Sentinel)
"The band combines the blues, country and pop into a catchy mix." (Toledo Blade)
"And they're funny.'Dust to Dust Blues'echoes Bob Dylan's lighter blues works - think 'Leopard-Skin Pillbox Hat' from 'Blonde on Blonde' - and the wordplay of 'Baby I Love Your Mind' makes for a wonderfully twisted love song." (InsideBaltimore.com)
"The band's tight musicicanship makes every tune precise and muscled." (Ann Arbor Current)
"Americana is a big tent. The Chicago-based JT & The Clouds, led by Jeremy Lindsay, makes use of every square inch of that space and expands it a few more . . . The songs average four and a half minutes, but you'll wish they were longer. You'll wish the CD was longer and you'll wish they were playing near you. JT & The Clouds are that good. This CD goes on my Best of 2004 list. (Freight Train Boogie)
"JT & the Clouds play country-tinged bar rock with surprising range. Frontman Jeremy Lindsay leads his Clouds from the doghouse to the roadhouse on the band's 'Delilah.'" (Time Out New York)

awesome music love it!
Superb talent
author: Peter CreticosI was introduced to JT and the Clouds through the Po'Girl cover of "Til It's Gone." I immediately purchased "Delilah" and "The City's Hot Yeah the City's Hot." This is a greatly talented group and Jeremy Lindsay is an inspired songwriter. Both albums are a "buy it."
Can't get enough
author: JessI was just introduced to these guys a month ago and I listen to this CD every single day. Brilliant lyrics. Awesome tunes. I love these guys. Wish they'd come to Tahoe...
Contains track of the decade!
author: Peter, The NetherlandsOn first hearing 'Delilah' reminds me of early Jayhawks or Wilco with soul, but hey, it's original talent you'll discover here. Tracks like Prairie Lullaby, Baby I Love Your Mind and How You Left Me leave you stunned, but wait 'til you hear the original version of 'Til It's Gone, which was covered by Po'Girl: it's one of the songs of this decade. Absolutely marvellous.
Lovely, visual lyrics & a bluesy, folksy, jazzy, rock delivery, WOW!
author: JimmyGThis CD so surpassed my expectations! You hear a band live and you wonder how well a recording will capture their presence. This CD is not a disappointment. The arrangement and production are top notch. Reminiscent of Al Stewart & Bob Dylan. Great stuff. Buy it, NOW!
Can't get enough
author: LuluBelleI caught the last two songs of JT and the Cloud's set at High Sierra Music Festival last summer, immediately bought the CD, and haven't stopped listening to it since. Some of the best lyrics I've heard in years -- smart, funny, and emotionally insightful! This obscure band is now one of my all time favorites.
great music under the sky
author: pino italyDelilah from JT & The Clouds,is a pleasant surprise, where there is a mixture of classical violins, electric guitar, horns that remind us of the Memphis sound, and a full body rhytmn, that goes well with clear voice of Jeremy Lindasay. It begins with Scattered Leaves,a morbid ballad, that ends with the effective winds instruments, that are beatiful. Not to mention the jazzy piece Get Alone Nightime. But the whole record is high quality, then the fascinating voice of Lindasy does the rest.It is really a good record, there may be more surprises reserved for us,with the future records.
More addicting than any substance I have ever injested
author: Andy ShufelbergerDelilah has changed my life, or maybe it was Nikki, nonetheless I can't get enough...everyday I make time to listen. It can teach you how to dance. It immediatly made my top 5 of all-time (no joke). Truly UNIQUE as is the breath of fresh air who turned me on to it. But then again Nicole is one of those few people that I can REALLY talk TO. Must see this band before I die. If ever in Sacramento we simply must book you for a show!! I am buying a dozen more for xmas gifts, any discounts for quanity? Can your next one really be as good? I'm nervous and excited...Thanks I needed this................
Thrilled to discover this band backing up the Be Good Tanyas in Victoria BC.
author: Colleen HigginsHad never heard the band before but discovered them backing up the Be Good Tanya's in Victoria British Columbia. Bought the cd the next day and we love it. It is a unique blend of genres and the lead vocalist does some funky things with the tunes. Great lyrics too. This cd will be seeing lots of play time in our home!
Excellent stuff
author: EricExcellent mix of style, sound, and overall feel. Seen them several times lives around Chicago bought the CD shortly thereafter...have been enjoying it ever since. If you don't have it, get it. Great work
Instructions: Insert and press play
author: PatrickHeard Dust to dust blues on xrt. Stole Delilah for 5 bucks at a local Chicago record store the next day, and have not stopped listening to this CD for 3 days. UNREAL. Bluegrass, country, stinging Chicago blues guitar, Outkast/Sly & the Family Stonesque use of horns. Deliciously eclectic. This NEEDS to be heard. Outstanding album.
Love It!
author: SharonHeard Baby I Love Your Mind on WXRT in Chicago. Looked high and low for the cd and finally ended up ordering it online. Can't wait to introduce it to my friends and family. Also, can't wait to see JT & The Clouds live and in person.

I have played this cd every day for 2 weeks. Zippity do da day God damn it are they fun to listen to!
Great
author: MarkIt's so hard to find good new music to listen to these days, what with most of today's radio bandwidth taken up with "classic" rock or "all rap all the time" stations, or all the new "stars" (mostly blond teens) that fill the air waves. What a revelation to hear fine new adult music from JT & The Clouds. Really new music, not rehashed crap, but true classics none the less. Thanks guys. This disc is wonderful!
Super change from the big labels
author: SusanThe blues themes go right to the gut on this great CD. Even better than that are the smart lyrics on nearly every tune. For those of us with our lives on the prairie but our heart (or at least part of it) on the west coast, it hits home. Terrific stuff.
YES!!!!!!!
author: Joe RossGreat album guys! What a change from the old Washington Island days...fresh new sound and great production. Can't wait to see you live again! Busch Lites all around!!!
A wonderful listening experience
author: Kevin DThis is a great CD I have previously heard this gentleman in the Capitol Sun ray's which is another great listen. I really think that I love your mind is one of the best tunes I have heard this year. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderfully eclectic, entertaining and thought provoking
author: Chuck G.What an interesting and diverse group. The songs are certainly original and thought provoking with entertaining arrangements that provide enough range to allow it to be listened to frequently. Just a great buy!!

Unbelievable CD
author: EmilyDelilah is such a joy to my ears every time I listen to it. The music is fresh and upbeat. It is a combination of different types of music, which seperates it from everything else.
Great CD!! I've played it for many people and haven't yet found one who didn't like it. I can't wait for the next one.
Hell of a Band, Hell of a CD
author: GeoffFrom start to finish, a great CD to listen to repeatedly. Love the "Country Soul."
Good lyrics, good groove. Listened over and over.
author: Rich HigdonThis CD rocks. JT's self-reflective lyrics sung with his silky twang float over and dance with the funk-in groove laid down by the rhythm section. I sat and listened to it three times through.
Great album, original and refreshing w/ solid playing and vocals.
author: Bob-OGreat Album, upbeat and refreshing! Ten original tunes written and sung by JT Lindsay w/ the Clouds. Nice arrangements w/solid playing by all the musicians; especially Chojo Jaques on fiddle. This CD is an interesting fusion of country roots w/rock,jazz,and soul. My favorite tunes are Scattered Leaves,Get Along Nighttime, and Hear No Drum; although all the tracks are excellent; This album is a sleeper, and a keeper; it swings good!
