As a young boy in Corpus Christi, Tx, JT Coldfire knew what it was he was going to do for the rest of his life. He started writing and playing music before he left elementary school and has been playing professionally since he was 13.
During the summers of his teenage years he would hitch rides to Austin from Corpus looking for jam sessions or gigs but mostly to check out the scene he knew he was bound for...eventually.
He moved to NYC at 20 and stayed in the Big Apple for almost two years playing wherever there was a stage or studio learning all he could from the more seasoned players there. After having lost his job at a recording/rehearsal studio in Tribeca three blocks from the World Trade Center when the attacks happened, he resorted to finding work wherever he could. A few weeks of sleeping in subway cars and friends couches and a little reflection, suggested that he save what he could and move back to Texas with his new girlfriend and young child.
It did'nt take long for the music to bring him back where he needed to be as a working musician and he since has released two albums of original material to much acclaim. He has since relocated to Austin, Tx and is staple in the live music community after only a few months with numerous regular gigs on Sixth street and elsewhere.
This guy does not just love the troubadour lifestyle, he lives it.
