Album Notes

John thomas Oaks loves Jesus Christ more than anything. He is a graduate of the Studio Music and Jazz program at the University of Tennessee. He has studied music under Faye Adams, Mark Boling, Donald Brown, Keith Brown, Rusty Holloway, Jerry Coker and Jane Perry.

He is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America, The American Federation of Musicians Local 802 and the International Bluegrass Music Association.

He is an alumnus of the BMI/Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop in New York City where he studied under Walter Edgar Kennon and has worked on Broadway as an assistant to Marvin Laird and John McDaniel. He has worked as an assistant regionally with Michael Gibson and as musical director with Tracey Moore and Janet Speer. He and his father Tommy Oaks have written over fifteen musical theatre pieces and one ballet that have been professionally staged, and he currently travels and performs with Tommy around the United States and in Mexico.

He is an avid collaborator and is fortunate to work hand in hand with artists such as John Branyan, Andy Corbitt, David Cornue, Jeff Delaney, Sam Holtzapple, Jason Oaks, Tommy Oaks, René Harte and Janet Speer to produce quality entertainment.

He has produced ten studio projects of original music and has composed music for independent film, corporate training videos and television.

He has worked as a copyist for The Lee Greenwood Theatre, Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus, The Chicago Marriot Theatre and Tweetsie Railroad.

He has been a musical director for over 30 regional and touring musicals.

He would love for anyone to sing his songs and take them to the top of the charts so he can pay off his credit card debt.
