Mimbre CD put to the test of the general public
author: edie
I have always enjoyed the cd personally, my favourite cuts are the Tajo de Rodena that Juan composed for his wife Rose, and the interpretation of Callejon de la Luna. My husband Richard often plays the cd in the mornings to start his day. But the real test I think, is that we play the cd in my store, and I notice my employees choose it regularly, with hundreds of cd's on the playlists. Customers often ask about what they hear , and buy the cd. I also am looking forward to the next cd

lyricism and dynamics beyond the standard
author: George Wishart
This CD stands alone in the flamenco genre. The pieces on Mimbre express not only a lyricism, but also a fluidity in both dynamics and metre that are a joy to experience and not regularly heard in flamenco music. The title track offers a wonderful lyrical journey with superb phrasing, and the pieces Tajo De Ronda, Morente and Tientos de la Nina exhibit a wide dynamic and expressive range....which can only come from the heart of a true musician. This gentleman has a wonderful future ahead of him.
