Album Notes

Judy Harrison and her band High Impact have opened for such names as Alan Jackson, Ty Herndon, Mindy McCready, Sammy Kershaw, Emerson Drive, Ronnie Milsap, Tracy Lawrence, Jessica Andrews, John Anderson and more!!
In the spring of 1997, Judy travelled to Nashville to work with song writer/producer Tom Paden on her first CD, "A Satisfied Me". It was recorded at County Q Studios with some of Nashville's finest studio musicians and vocal coach Judy Rodman (Academy of Country Music Awards Most Promising Female Vocalist 1985).
The year 2001 marked the release of Judy Harrison and High Impact's second CD, "The Girl Most Likely To." The project, recorded at Frontier Studios in Northern Michigan and at County Q Studios in Nashville, reunited Judy, Tom Paden, Judy Rodman and (in addition to High Impact) a veritable "who's who list" of Nashville's finest musicians. It was nominated in three catagories (best female vocalist, best country album, best country group)for the '01 Detroit Music Awards.
"The Girl Most Likely To" blends "country, roadhouse and rock styles into a collection of country that is truly innovative and unique." It is definitely "country music...with an attitude."

Great contemporary country sound! Great vocals, Smart & fun music!

As a musician for over 35 years, this was the first county CD I ever bought and it changed my perceptions about country music. The vocals are tight and sharp, the music is challenging, and the whole CD is a lot of fun. Listen to track #4 "I Like That in a Man" for a power country ballad. Check out Judy's vocals and the tight harmonies of her backup vocalists in track #10 "I Will Love Again". My favorite (as a bass player) is track #6, "I Can Live Without Him" ..it really hops along and tells a good story. I am a bit biased as I'm in my fourth year as Judy's bass player, but this CD gives you a touch of the positive energy, feisty attitude, and joy Judy and the band put into every product they create and performance they put on. Buy it,Enjoy it,and get ready for the next one that'll be out soon!

Just as good as a "Satisfied Me", which is why I was prompted to see if Judy had any more CDs out there. If you like any one of her CDs, you really should get them all. When is the next one coming out?

Dynamic, high energy, songs that stay in your head!

As a Motown-Blues-Rocker, I came upon this music by chance and was soon mesmerized by the lyrics, the beat, and Judy's powerful voice. No wonder this band has opened for so many headliners! If you are ever lucky enough to be where they are doing a show, do yourself a favor and join in. Your feet won't quit tapping! The musicians are top of the line and the back up singers and dancers kick it up a notch! These are songs that stay with you and you'll find yourself humming them after the show. My favorites are "There Ought to Be a Law", "I Like That in a Man" and "If You Can't Say Something Nice" for dancing and "Love Don't Even Know My Know My Name" is a soulful ballad. Judy Harrison and her High Impact Band are powerhouse entertainers who never disappoint. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD and look for the next one! Check out her website for where they are playing next and get yourself on over!!!
