notes

Juliana Nash is the former singer/songwriter for the Boston rock band "Talking to Animals". Members include the drummer Jay Bellerose and Mike Levesque, guitar player Thomas Juliano and Greg Porter on Bass. Their one release, "Manhole" was made for Columbia Records in 1994 but was eventually released on Velvel Records. Velvel was a vanity label of industry legend, Walter Yetnikoff. The band went on to tour with two Lilith Fairs. In 1998, after 10 years of playing together, the band decided to call it quits.
This self titled CD was produced by Camus Celli & Paul Bryan. Players on the CD include: Jay Bellerose, Paul Bryan, Eric Sanko, Eric Schimmerhorn, Camus Celli, Jason Crigler, & Andy Hess.

Juliana went on to be the co-founder of Brooklyn's distinguished music venue "Pete's Candy Store". She is now enjoying writing music for her own children's playgroup at "Goat on a Boat" puppet theatre in Sag Harbor, NY, co-writing musical puppet shows and is currently writing songs for a play. She is glad to be writing in the company of her two children Ruby & Zane.

  • Great CD

I really liked this CD alot. I had not heard of Juliana Nash before but I heard one of her songs, Built For Longing in the movie Maze. I loved the song so I found out who sang it and bought the CD. The whole CD is great but that song is my favorite, I could listen to it over and over.

  • Excellent music, refreshing, uncommon and well done.

I really appreciated the listening experience visited upon me by this album. I found it to be excellent music, refreshing, uncommon and well done. Some songs stand out far above the others, and their lesser companions still far outshine most of the marketing rubbish available from the major labels.

  • Smart, Sexy, Sweet , Sultry, Sincere............*Stellar*

Nash has somehow taken her heart and spun it into music. A short but sweet collection of six tracks prove that Nash's music is mature, insightful, powerful, intelligent, evocative, sweet, and sultry. Add in a voice to die for and it's pure bliss. I can't think of any female singer-songwriter who has released a CD with anywhere near the depth and brilliance of Nash, or these exquisite and personal songs. I think every track on this CD is "perfectly beautiful........"

  • rock and roll and roll and roll

When Juliana's old band Talking to Animals broke up, it was a sad day. A very sad day. And then she moved to NYC and bought a bar. I figured there was very little chance of hearing that mesmerizing voice in Boston again. Lucky us. She's back with a 6-song EP. Simply put? It rocks. Perhaps not as hard rocking as Talking to Animals' tunes; but it's still honest, straight forward rock. Not to mention Juliana's distinctive voice, too. This is a CD for any sensible music fan's collection. My favorite off the CD is "Perfectly Beautiful", a song Juliana wrote for Ruby, her newborn.
