Album Notes

Timeless songstress Julie Morgan...

In a world where most things are too rushed, it's refreshing to hear the gentle, laid back styling of Julie Morgan.

Performing with her "favorite legend," guitar master Al Viola and his trio made up of Richard Simon on bass and Brian Newbury on drums, Morgan is right at home with the straight ahead jazz styling Viola is so famous for.

Love of standards and torch songs are delivered with an appealing, honest approach - Morgan sings from her heart in the style of the 40's nightingale with clarion tones.

"...the sophisticated vocal quality made evident that Morgan had received formal voice training - her voice clean and full with a wide vocal range, always on pitch and very precise." - LA Jazz Scene.

Jazz aficionados can expect an intimate recording with arrangements and accompaniment by the man Frank Sinatra introduced to the world for 30 years as "one of the world's greatest guitarists."

JULIE MORGAN: P.S. I Love You with the Al Viola Trio
author: Joel SanFilippo
I am a professional guitar player, and so I purchased this CD because Al Viola, a true guitar virtuoso, plays backup solo on it. Al played backup on some of the famous Julie London and Peggy Lee recordings, so I don't have to tell you how great he is. But the main surprise of greatness is this: Julie Morgan's singing! What an added plus! Julie Morgan makes all the songs on this CD sound totally updated - like they were written and performed for the first time by her now. Believe me, Julie Morgan is worth listening to over and over again. She's ear candy (and eye candy too)! My advice to anyone who likes intimate guitar arrangements and intimate singing is to buy this great CD right away. There is only a limited supply, so act fast!
