"When I interviewed Juliet Wyers on-air, I got the 'eureka' shiver. She's the real thing...." Ed McKeon, Folk Music Director, WWUH-FM, Hartford, CT.
"That glowing voice, a rare instrument.... it is appropriate that Oregon's Juliet Wyers sings a song about honeybees, since her voice and appearance both evoke honey and sunshine....An intriguing talent..."
The Boston Herald, November 21, 2003
"One can only listen and marvel... Strong writing.... Pixyish.... intelligence, patience, determination, sense of humor and sense of community ...truly professional .... Well done. Recommended."
Sing Out! Quarterly, Summer 2003
In just a year and a half since her first CD was released ("Clear", 2003), Wyers' music is quickly rising in the national folk/pop community. Songs from "Clear" earned finalist awards and invitations to perform at 6 national songwriting competitions that summer, including Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, Rocky Mt. Folks Festival, and more. Invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, a few months later, Wyers played a show there on the first night of her first tour.
In performance, Juliet is charismatic and fills the stage with her smart and sweet, funny and chatty persona. Subtly literate, her songs ring with melodies that reflect the words' meanings and hop with rhythmic life -- raised on soul music/funk, 1960's folk, and Broadway musicals, what would you expect? Wyers winds science and spirit together in pieces about honeybees, subliming (in chemistry, going directly from solid to gas), and a metal detector man, then puts her guitar down to breathe and belt out a flirtatious, silly cover song, or lead a sing-a-long that came in a dream. Wyers plays her tone-deaf dad's gorgeous 1956 Gibson guitar. snapshots
Wyers grew up in the Pacific Northwest, in a log house in the forest and an Old Portland home, with activist parents who heated with wood, baked bread weekly and kept a big garden. She was a highly practiced walkman-singer before she risked solo performance.

A bit more...
From songs with a tasty band ("Life, Love Me", "First Hot Day", "Gogo Boots") to just a girl at an attic piano ("Light Moving Across You") or on a shining old guitar, from an a cappella spiritual that came to her in a dream ("Help Me Understand") to the story of a guy addicted to his metal detector ("Metal Detector Man"), from the tenderest heart ("Broken Heart", "Vigil") to the roughest edges ("Bully on a Bad Day"), Wyers will hook you.

Listen to Juliet Wyers "Clear" and fall in love with her music
author: LeAnna BaileyJuliet Wyers "Clear" is a musical gift for your heart and soul. Some of Juliet's music is fast and fun, it will remind you of good times, other songs are so beautiful and touching you will want to cry over them. My daughter and I often sing, dance and celebrate life with Juliet Wyers "Clear" blasting on the stereo.
Awesome! Clear and Present.
author: Sharron AppleAwesome! This CD is blessed and awe-inspiring, the only thing more Clear and present is experiencing Juliet in person. The “Vigil”, is my favorite for this moment, the transition is real and connected, life loves her and so do I. Namast’e, Sharron Apple

author: Crystal Davis, Civic Auditorium, The DallesI'm really, really impressed
author: MarkThe title track is like a slow sip of wine. It's very warm and beautiful and to be savored. The soulful "Help Me Understand" is wonderful. The whole CD really shines. If you enjoy the work of Lucy Kaplansky/Edie Carey/Shawn Colvin/Jane Siberry/Kris Delmhorst/Tracy Chapman, don't miss Juliet Wyers. Honest. Unpretentious. Playful. Clear.... Enjoy.
Very powerful
author: Rick PhillipsHelp Me Understand cuts right to your soul. This is what angels sound like when they sing.
Sensual Voice and great songs full of expression
author: wadjiI find that Juliet has a sensual voice and great songs full of expression...
One can only listen and marvel.... strong writing, tightly recorded.... Recommen
author: Sing Out!There is a pixy-ish quality to Juliet's writing, the best example of which is her "Life -- Love Me." Other standouts include "Clear," "Gogo Boots" and "Bully on a Bad Day." These songs, and the others on the album, reveal Juliet's strong writing abilities. One can only listen and marvel, as the songs seem as if they should have come from an older and more experienced writer. Juliet is accompanied by guitar, percussion, tin whistle, piano, bass, hot fudge dispenser, accordion, and other instruments as appropriate. "Clear" is a tightly recorded album with enough support to make it interesting while not so much as to detract from the songs. Juliet Wyers has proved once again that intelligence, patience, determination, sense of humor and sense of community can go a long way to make a neophyte into a truly professional musician. Well done. Recommended.
Just plain cool.... Juliet's music can turn any gray day bright.
author: Singer MagazineAfter listening to Clear, it's so hard to believe that she's only been writing and performing for the last three years. Juliet’s music can turn any gray day bright. Wyers calls her music holy science acousto-pop. Okay. To me, it’s just plain cool. I had the pleasure to watch her perform a couple of her songs at the recent Folk Alliance Festival in Nashville, and she’s just as much fun to watch as she is to listen to. Full of life, hope, inspiration, dreams, attitudes and everything in between, Juliet has a unique way of looking at it all and then presenting it with energy, passion, and contagious enthusiasm. Songs like “GoGo Boots,” “Bully On A Bad Day,” and “Metal Detector Man” .... My favorite? “First Hot Day,” a cute ditty about, you guessed it, the first hot day of summer. Too cool!
Absolutly wonderful! Truly heartfelt and uplifting!
author: Sun GoddessI am very impressed. Filled with hope, happiness, and longing I was captivated from beginning to end! 'Clearly', this is a foresahdow of what's to come. I can't wait!
