Juline Jordan’s solo debut release, What She Said, is a compilation of songs about love and politics – the two things she is most passionate about. As an activist for women’s rights, civil rights, peace and social justice, Juline doesn’t take life lightly. Hear it in songs like Baghdad and Beyond (with Vinnie Dombroski of Sponge guesting on vocals), I Speak Politically, and Park Me Way Out Back. Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Juline moved to Detroit in ‘98 to work as a rock DJ at WRIF-FM. From there she entered the political radio arena, co-hosting a syndicated talk show with Detroit radio veteran and political activist Peter Werbe. It’s a good bet if you watch CNN or MSNBC, you’ve probably seen her sparring with the right-wing suits. She still travels extensively to political protests around the country, which is her number one passion.
Detroit bassist Tim Krukowski (Sponge) produced the project, cowrote the music, and is also part of the live band. Jordan is also backed by drummer Billy Adams (Sponge) and guitarist Mike Adkins.
