JUMP CITY BAND
The Jump City Band was formed several years ago by Kip London, lead vocalist and guitarist. Kip hails originally from Pittsburgh, where he played with a number of blues bands and then began a solo career in which he opened for the likes of Willie Dixon, John Hammond, Keb Mo and the Fabulous Thunderbirds among others.
Kip then moved to the Boston area in 1998 and after pursuing more solo engagements, he formed the band Jump City. A dynamic front man with a stinging lead guitar and outstanding vocal range, the
Boston Herald has called Kips presence "coolly straight ahead."
Holding down the bass guitar as well as occasional lead vocals is Pete Kelly. Pete started on bass at 13, and played his first gig at Black Daddy's at the tender age of 14. He's played in various bands since joining Jump City in 2000 and is accomplished on acoustic guitar and piano as well. Pete comes from a rich musical background, including brother George Kelly (Lucid Intervals), a talented song writer and guitarist and niece Jean Louisa Kelly, a superb singer and actress who's starred in such movies as Mr. Holland's Opus and Uncle Buck.
The other side of the rhythm section is covered by Gary Adelson , better known as "Big Daddy Beat". Big Daddy can lay down the meanest flat tire as well as swing with the best of them. Although he's been on the drums for years, he got "hooked" on the blues scene when he first saw Ronnie Earl play live. That was it!
This powerful rhythm section blends with the bands honking tenor sax man, Mark Caughill. Mark's been on the horn since childhood and has played around the Boston area for years with the likes of Ricky "The King" Russell. The sax adds a critical dimension to the band, adding versatility to the music that many blues bands simply cannot reproduce.
Last, but certainly not least, is Jump's # 2 guitarist, Bob Enik. Bob can offer up some scorching lead riffs, and then get down and swampy on his fills on rhythm guitar. A true pro who's been playing for years, Bob has played and recorded with the likes of Al Kooper and Chicago Bob.
WGBH's (89.7) Boston's blues show host Brendan Hogan, who interviewed Pete Kelly leading up to the release of the band's latest CD "Goin' Downtown", called Jump City " a hard working Boston blues band" that is continuing to keep blues alive in New England.
The band has played the 2002 Boston Blues Festival, the 2003 Erie
Music Festival, B.B.Kings Niteclub at Foxwoods Resort Casino and been the featured band at the Boston M.S. Society annual walkathon at Boston's historic Hatch Shell.
"Goin'Downtown" was recorded live at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA. We hope that you enjoy it.

Da Bloooozzz Is Alive and Well!!
author: Phil McKenna (AKA The Owl)
This is so cool that Kip London and Co have issued a jumping live recording! Over the years, Jump City ahs really grown by leaps and bounds in how it explores the many faces of Da Bloooooz! Having once played with Kip years ago, I can say that I witnessed up close a true artist at work and one who is so honest and energized bya great form of music. Grab this disc, you won't regret it!!!
