This debut release from San Diego California artist Jump Jones is the perfect mix of Jump Blues, Jazz, Swing and Early Rock and Roll.
They didn't stop there! They've even thrown in a little straight blues with the standard "Stormy Monday," and covered classic Rock and Roll with a jumped-up version of the Lynard Skynard classic, "I Know a Little."
Whether you're looking for something to dance to, or good time music that's just plain fun, the Jones Boys are just what the doctor ordered!!!

It isn't easy playing music some might consider a niche genre in the 21st century. Musicians that don't embrace the sultry, money covered mistress of pop have to be very clever in the menu selection for their play lists. Jump Jones has mastered this art form, because they know who they are and they know what they play. More than a cover band, Jump Jones is raucous, hardcore jump blues standards with a well-thought out approach to material that spans classic rock n' roll, swing, and jazz . The band has this special potion for sale in their new release "Snake Oil Remedies for the Modern Condition (Blitz Studios)."
Blues standards like "911" and personal favorite "It Should've Been Me" invoke a fun west coast feel, and fast Lindy pieces like "Bloodshot Eyes" and "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" make the dancers brim with infectious energy. Rock n' roll is well-represented in the two Bill Haley tribute tracks "Shake Rattle and Roll" and "See You Later Alligator," giving a jump blues polish to kicking all-to-well-known arrangements. This is a serious dance album, with a great mix of tempo and styling from classics like "Saturday Night Fish Fry" to beautiful instrumentation like "Doxy." Based purely on musicality and song selection, this would be an excellent addition to a dance deejay's library without question.
The band shares its vocal duties, and that allows for different feels to specific ideas without changing the overall sound of the band. Mike Towe, Jamie Tobitt, Garth Robbins, Jon Harford, and Steve Azola work well as a team of seasoned musicians, and may be just the cure for your retro music collection as their album title most assuredly suggests.

When I saw Jump Jones live, I said to myself, now THAT's a great band! They have so much fun on stage together, and it shows in Snake Oil Remedies. This CD will have you jumping out of your seat wanting to dance the night away, with a few tracks to suggle next to your honey. This CD has brought much needed life into the swing dancing community by playing jump blues, swing, and jazz. Snake Oil Remedies tops my charts as one of my favorite CDs and it will be one of yours, just one listen and you'll be hooked. So when's the next CD come out?

My favorite local band has put out my favorite cd.

My favorite local band has put out my favorite cd. I've been a loyal fan of Jump Jones since the beginning and they just keep getting better. Now I can listen to them any time the mood strikes rather than wait for their next gig. Life just doesn't get much better. From Mike's gravely blues voice (Big Mickey), to Jon's crooning (Casino), to Garth's All American voice (Dr. Jazz) - I love it all. Fantastic cd to practice or teach swing to and rev's you up if you're just listening. See ya later alligator!
