Demo (EP)

by Junekneeah-Nathaniel

Spiritual Soul with its overload of neo-soulful harmonies, forces its listener, into a floating abyss, not ever wanting to be pulled out. Now you will want to be left within that euphoric space. The enchanting Nappy 'Ed pays nuff respect to the non-weave

Album Notes
He is what real soul fans wait for in anticipation: strong lyrics accompanied by hauntingly sweet unforgettable music. Make no mistake Junekneeah-Nathaniel is here to stay! His music is arrogant because it follows no rules. Listening to it is like being kissed for the first time. His music takes a raw look at love, sex and relationships that unashamedly surrenders its listeners to wanting more (who said gluttony is a deadly sin!).You'll never get enough of him, and at the same time, he'll leave you in a mental and sexually aroused state of exhaustion. Who is this complex musical connoisseur? A native of South London, the singer/songwriter and producer escaped into a musical cavern as early as 7 years old, a result of losing his mother. His formative musical education began in the Pentecostal Church. As he got older, this shy, introverted child learned to appreciate Soul, Jazz, and Funk, mimicking his new found companions: Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone, George Clinton, the instigators who would 'parent' him during solitude whilst moulding and developing his unique style. As an independent artist JN has worked or collaborated with: James Taylor Quartet, Elisha Laverne, Mentor, Pepper Head, Maxi Priest, Nii Ayikwei Parkes, Opaz, Rishi Rich, The Pod, Veronica and David Yorath. His music is consistent. JN's vocal performance is varied and soothing to the soul. He has a distinctive tone; like Raphael Saadiq once you hear it, you'll recognize it on any featured vocals. He is not just a lyricist; he is a poet. His use and juxtaposition of words is both strange and refreshing. I'll liken him to one of the great poets Thomas Hardy. (if you don't know who Hardy is look him up!). JN is an unforgettable romantic. His homage to love lost and gained is done with unwavering sincerity. His topical observation should leave any upcoming artist wishing they had taken time to learn this complicated craft with affection and attention.
