Album Notes
The third solo project by “the greatest koto player in the world . . . (Stanley Clarke),” is a collaborative venture with her closest co-composers. The all new, original compositions by June and ‘friends’ reflect the continuing growth of the artist and her passion to use the koto as her voice in untraditional settings. The richness and complexity of the pieces are highlighted by June’s unparalleled feel and musicianship in rich orchestral settings, world rhythms, and R&B grooves.

Always putting emotion at the forefront of her performances, the evocative pieces (several with Hiroshima bandmates, Kimo Cornwell and Dan Kuramoto) in ‘Under the Stars’ transports the listener to June’s melodic world of sights and sounds.
