Album Notes

Ever since Juni Fisher hit the Western Scene, she has been winning audiences over with a distinctive style that's all her own. No wonder the Academy of Western Artists awarded her the 2005 Female Vocalist of the Year, and the Western Music Association awarded her their 2005 Crescendo Award, and 2006 Female Vocalist of the Year.

From the Monterey Cowboy Festival on coast of California to the Riverbend Festival on the shores of the Tennessee River, the message is loud and clear...great songwriting prevails. Doesn't hurt that Juni Fisher is one heck of a performer, too.

Her third offering of Western themed music is "Cowgirlography". It's a rollicking trip through the cheap backstretch of a county fair racetrack, a precision ride through the work pens with a lady vaquero, a horse lost, and horse found, a young wrangler's dying wish with an eerie reward, and love found for a lonely widowed California rancher and a lively Arizona widow, in the 2007 WINNER for WMA SONG OF THE YEAR, "I Hope She'll Love Me".
And wait till you hear Juni Fisher's treatment of the Leonard Cohen classic "Ballad of the Runaway Horse": it's worth the price of admission, but there's still more, in Fisher's chilling "Goodnight Good Pony". Cowgirlography will become a timeless classic in your collection.

I think I have most of Juni's CDs. This is probably my favorite. I also purchased Gone for Colorado. She is just a wonderful storyteller.

Juni has once again put you right there with her in the words and music she writes. I am a cowgirl myself so I believe in Cowgirlogrophy! What else can one say about Juni's songs other than they are wonderful!

Hooray for the Cowgirls!

Juni Fisher has done it again. I have her previous albums, and she has exceeded my expectations with this new one. Her imagery and storytellng are the finest in the land, in "Little Red Horse", "Silver Music", and you will weep as I did over "Goodnight Good Pony" Her duet with Joe Hannah (lead singer of the Sons of the San Joaquin) is called "I Hope She'll Love Me", and destined to be the Western Music Association Song of the Year in 2007, and is already nominated for a Cowboy Hall of Fame Western Heritage Award. And if you thought you had heard Leonard Cohen's fine "Ballad Of The Runaway Horse" before, Juni's stark, plaintive treatment will remind you what she does best...tell a story in a way that will break your heart. This is a must listen for anyone who treasures the West!
