Great stuff! Listenable yet intense.

Great new stuff from JL! The writing is getting deeper, more complex, and is touching on darker themes with a growing maturity. Apology, Now That I've Started and Stabilize show some really cool interweaving of lyrical themes with colorful yet tasteful guitar work. Soon I'll Be Away and Only Six show a harder and crisper edge. Viscosity and Cracks in the Pavement sound like strong power pop--until you read the lyrics ... Great Stuff!

Good, solid, female-fronted vocals. Tight musicianship.

I found this CD to be easy listening, while still retaining it's intended edge. It's obvious that JL put in a lot of hard work on the tracking and production of this album. The recording is top notch.... A lot of the songs tend to sound alike, but that's not necessarily a bad thing with Juniper Lane. This album is instantly likable, and will probably be one of those CDs to stay in your stereo for 2-3 weeks at a time. Four stars. (A few heavy chug chug E chord crunch songs would have gotten it five stars, but hey...that's just me..)

Where previous album tightrope was about youthful optimism this one is more grown-up with songs about pain and disillusionment. Here again I find the lyrics to be more interesting and intelligent and personal than standard pop fare. Beautiful music and wonderful singing. This is real music- not plastic synthetic homogenized crap. Stop reading this and go buy it!
