Album Notes

This is the first JunkieRush CD, which was released in early 2001. The original JR lineup consisted of Bobby Koelble on guitar and vocals, Chris Charles on sax, flute and keys, Aaron O'Riley on bass, and Matt Hughen on drums

The self-titled CD was nominated for CD of the Year in the Orlando Weekly's Orlando Music Awards and has received airplay on several Central Florida radio stations (as well as in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands). So far it has sold over 2500 copies independently.

"This was an interesting recording for me personally" says Bobby Koelble, former guitarist for the seminal metal band Death. "It was the first time I ever recorded an enitre CD as a lead vocalist and songwriter, so it was a big step for me. It was also right after my mother died, so I wanted to produce something really good in her memory."

The CD was the first installment in what JR fans have now come to expect: a highly identifiable mix of modern rock, funk and world music influences. "I've always wanted to combine different styles of music what I do. I was lucky enough to have found three other guys who felt the same way."

"JR" also featured other fine Orlando area musicians Mike Iapachino (trumpet) Keith Oshiro (trombone) and Steady Joseph (percussion).

Also available: "JunkieRush II" (2003)

Look for the new JunkieRush CD "Live at the Social", (available December 2005) and the third JR studio CD "Manifesto" (coming spring 2006).

Chris Charles is the Jimmi Hendrix of Saxophone
author: Terry Baber
For all you musicians who thirst for quality music - go no further than this album. It is fresh, invigorating, and innovative. In the day when the "yo cats" play it soft and safe I welcome the style of sax-man Chris Charles. He leaves it all out there for you and as I said is the Jimmi Hendrix of Saxophonists.. This is a must have for a good collection

If you are in the mood to be taken on an adventure of smooth shimmying, rocking, and flat out hypnotizing greatness this is your album!!! I can't enough and if you are in the Orlando area and not at the Social on December 10th than you are a poor unfortunate soul.
