Album Notes

The core of the Jupiter Ray Project includes singer/songwriter Jack Pelletier, singer/songwriter Shannon Ross, and bassist and multi-instrumentalist Chris Breitner. We are also joined from time to time by some of Ottawa's most talented musicians, including pedal-steel player Al Bragg, drummers Peter Von Althen, Peter Hammond, Dave Hubenig and Matt Sobb, bassist Kurt Walther of the Angstones and the Jivewires, piano-man Steve Ridgeley, multi-instumentalist Chris Bartos, and many others.

Our live performances aim to be honest and compelling. We often pare the music down to the bare bones, trying to create an atmosphere of shared feeling with the audience. Live music is made up of so many art-forms - the instrumentation, the vocalization, the arrangement, the emotion in the moment. We try to get the best out of each moment.

And sometimes we just need to let loose and rock.

We are currently recording a follow-up to our first album, Grassfire.
