Jurga started her solo career back in 2005 and became one of the most popular and best Lithuanian singers of all time. She is the first Lithuanian who has won prestigious awards abroad; Jurga was awarded the statue of the best Baltic act, and the singer is also the winner of the Baltic song contest Grand Prix in Sweden.

The singer was very successful when she released her debut album “Aukso Pieva” in 2005 with the help of one of the most famous Lithuanian performers, Andrius Mamontovas, and the M.P.3 music management company.

The “Aukso Pieva” album was sold in a platinum edition of 22,000 units. The songs “Nebijok”, “Aukso Pieva”, “As Esu Tiktai Jei Tu Esi”, “Galbut” and “Saule Vandeny” from this album became favourites on radio stations.

Jurga’s debut hit, “Nebijok”, was the most popular Lithuanian song in 2005 and was No. 1 in Lithuania for eight weeks. Jurga won almost all of the possible awards in her country for her solo activity as the Best Singer, the Best Album, the Best Song of the year, the Best Debut, the Most Popular Song and other nominations.

In autumn of 2006, Jurga’s songs were licensed in the world’s most popular websites, such as “iTunes Music Store”, “Napster”, “eMusic”, “Amazon”, “Musicnet”, “Virgin Mega”, “Sony Connect” and others. It became possible to acquire Jurga’s music in any country of the world.

In spring of 2007, Jurga’s second album, “Instrukcija”, was released and became golden in two weeks. This album was produced by Linas Rimša, Vee Diawara and Mario Basanov. The title song of the album again became No. 1 in Lithuania. In support of the new album, Jurga organized the biggest concert tour in the history of Lithuania – almost sixty concerts and performances of live music in six countries (including two concerts in Afghanistan) on three continents.

Moreover, two compact singles (and impressive video clips) “5th Season” and “Sandman’s Child” were released from the album “Instrukcija” – it is the only time something like this has happened in Lithuanian music history during the last ten years. At the end of the year, Jurga was awarded the titles of Woman of the Year and Tolerance of the Year together with new various music awards.

In 2008, Jurga was the first Lithuanian singer who achieved a No.1 hit abroad (in Hungary) with her song “5th Season”. In May, the tale “Pasaka apie Slieką ir jo draugą Pašiauštą” written by Jurga was presented in bookstores and few weeks later, Jurga, together with the pianist Petras Geniušas effectively mixed pop music and classics in a concert in the great yard of Vilnius University. In 2008 July Jurga performed in the concert of the world famous Iceland singer Bjork as a guest.

Before her solo career in 2002, Jurga took part in the Baltic performers’ “Fizz Super Star” competition where she became one of the finalists, and in 2004 she had the main roles in the Lithuanian rock musicals “Tadas Blinda” and “Ugnies Medziokle Su Varovais”. Lithuanian theatre and cinema directors also like Jurga’s voice.
