Just recently, she was personally scouted out and discovered by MTV for a non-exclusive licensing deal to have her music on URGE, a new digital music service from MTV Networks.

Justine then landed the March cover of Go Detroit Magazine and was featured in Six Degrees Magazine in July along with numerous local and national newspaper write-ups and reviews. Her song Rush (Remix) is currently in a motion picture entitled Drop Box in Hollywood, CA.

Justine's musical genre is very unique because it’s country but mixed with Motown roots. Some of Justine's major influences are Joss Stone, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, Martina McBride and Shania Twain. “I'd like to describe my music as it has an eclectic sound to it.” Justine’s music has been put in the hands of record labels like Geffen, Columbia Records, Hollywood, Motown, Maverick, DreamWorks and Interscope. • sex + dancing = world peace
    author: Helena Wankstein

Passion In Me finds Justine exploring familiar thematic territory (sex + dancing = world peace) in search of fresh musical ideas. The result is career recording No. 1(minus all those singles and christmas albums), which is likable though maybe a star shy of exceptional. While Passion is the theme, the prevailing sound is 80's and attractively rhythmic with modest world music and Christian accents. Notable is Justine's extensive use of auto-tune (heard on 9 of the 11 tracks; two selections, however, feature straightforward singing, or an attempt at it) and the disc's vivid, sparkling production. Justine offers an assortment of moods, from the celebratory, planetary-choir sound (think Adiemus) on "Making Love In The Rain" to pulsing, Deep Forest-like tribal chants, which sometimes click ("Everybody Dance") and sometimes seem forced, a little Justine-come-lately ("Raining in the City "). High points are the didgeridoo-driven "Diamond Tears" and the ethereal "Rush." Overall, the disc's sound tilts more toward the horny than the romantic (a good trend), though some pieces (particularly her mini-skirts) seem overly in your face and a little starched. Even so, Passion In Me is a compelling effort that indicates Justine is, happily, keeping in touch with her sex pot side. --Terry Wood

Very impressive. It's about time somebody came along and produced some good music and this is it. This is a deep relief from the commercial rubbish I am bombarded with on a daily basis. A full thumbs up from Verbal!

  • Hot New Christian Artist!
    author: Heinrick Finstermeyer

Justine Blazer has already won over fans in her native Kazakhstan and is set to make a splash with her first American-label release with Inpop Records. The 20-something packs her debut with a refreshing blend of mid-tempo rock/pop melodies layered with techno sounds. Her lyrics are interwoven with Christian themes such as mercy, but the message isn't always overt. Her tunes are enjoyable, but too often fall back on tired melodic progressions found in much of today's pop music. Her voice is sweet with a touch of wispyness and sometimes a slight edge. You can slide this release into your compact disc player, sit back and enjoy the simple music about our lord and savior, Jesus Christ and his glorious kingdom. This is a hot new Christian artist you don't want to miss. Highly recommended!

  • Truly Awesome!!!
    author: Jennifer Nagery

Singer/songwriter and rock/pop recording artist Justine Blazer is truly talented. Passion in Me is a creative and enjoyable album that everyone will love. Every song is just a little bit different. To name my favorites: "Rush" is a great upbeat dance tune, "Diamond Tears" is a power ballad yet has a blues like feel to it, "Everybody Dance" is a true pop/rock example of an upbeat tune that's fun to dance to, and her version of "These Boots are Made for Walking" is fun, wicked and it's a blast to rock to! Overall this album is a must have! To sum it up, it's just great music!

  • Teenage audience sing along
    author: Terrence Lester

With her pink fingernails, heavy eyeliner, and dyed-blonde long hair, Britney Spears protege Justine Blazer looks like her, but that's where the similarities end. While Britney is all pop-rock Disney cred, Justine is a sensitive young Christian woman who's devoted to her piano. Most of the songs on Passion In Me sound the same: piano, strings, drum machines, overproduced vocals, and traditional pop structure, right down to the key change three-quarters through each track. Standouts include the first single, "Rush," a strong, danceable blend of girl power and youthful vulnerability, and "So Alone," a ballad that recalls Mariah Carey's early inspirational offerings (with the accompanying vocal tricks). "Why Can't I Stop Thinking Of You," a mid-tempo dance track featuring more over-produced vocals, would be a perfect TRL chartbuster with its handclaps and softly strumming guitar if the melody wasn't so high, making it impossible for both Justine and her teenage audience to sing along. The lyrics of every song could be about either a boyfriend or the Lord, which should comfort Christian parents looking for "secular" music appropriate for their adolescent girls. Overall, the album is capable but seamlessly uniform: background music to do your homework by, but little else.
