Justin King has dramatically reshaped and extended the language of the acoustic guitar, introducing his own unique and outstanding techniques. With the intensity and passion with which he plays, Justin brings a quality to the music that is far beyond just his mastery of a dizzying variety of forms.
After being signed then released from Epic records, Justin King and his band went back to Justin's Blackberry Hill Studios in Eugene, OR and recorded the 5 songs on Fall/Rise entirely on their own. Justin produced, engineered, and mixed the record, in addition to writing, playing and singing on it. Dynamic in range, density, and texture, the EP features everything from driving rock to electronic drum programming to solo acoustic performances, all enhanced by a strong melodic sense.
In addition to the full lenth album, this enhanced CD features four videos: "Same Mistakes" "Bailing The Titanic" "Bright & Dirty Lights" plus a solo performance on a custom-made doubleneck acoustic.
The band continues to tour in 2007, both in support of this full length and the EP, Fall/Rise released earlier this year.

What press has to say?
"One part guitar virtuoso and one part nascent pop star, Justin King visits from Oregon to rock out on his acoustic guitar and tap on some wicked riffs."
- San Francisco Bay Guardian
“Justin King’s songs are layer-after-layer of musical savvy soaking with sophistication, it is no wonder that each show amasses a collection of wobbly-kneed, speechless, star-struck fans." - Feb 2007, Hotel Cafe in LA, show review, www.lataco.com/taco/justin-king-live-hotel-cafe-hollywood
"I must have caught Justin King early in his career. If he doesn’t rise any higher in the music industry, it means the system is so broken it can no longer recognize real talent--or maybe Justin King is just happy where he is. Certainly, he has everything a singer-songwriter hack like John Mayer has, the difference being King’s startling technicality. Forgive me for being coarse, but this guy can play guitar like a motherfucker. He has an odd style, combining finger picking, slap-and-pop, tapping, and even frailing to dynamic effect. I don’t know if other people play guitar like this, but if they do, I want to know their names."

Great Suprise from Justin

I started off as a fan of Justin's Le Bleu virtuosic acoustic guitarwork. When I heard that he switched over to rock and was going to release a rock album, I was afraid this was sellout attempt to break into the mainstream music business.
I was wrong! None of the songs sound like a desperate attempt at radioplay or a folk artist trying to become a top-40 rock artist. In fact, this album proves Justin King's musical versatility, he can craft both intricate acoustic folk music or straightforward heartfelt pop-rock while maintaining authenticity in either genre.
The best way to describe this album is pop-rock/emo. The songs have catchy melodies and riffs, yet with lots of intense build-ups and releases, atmospheric guitar effects. Justin's singing is very heartfelt. Most importantly, the album rocks.
The band did get signed to a major record (Sony), but unfortunately, that did not pan well for them as they left Sony Records.

Truly Original...

I love the music. Every bit of it. It seems that the record label maybe had a say in some of the lyrics, because some lines have been changed to sound a bit more "happy". Either way this band truly has chemistry and the fact that the guitar doesn't take center stage throughout shows the respect they have for one another. For a debut album there are no complaints here. Can't wait until they start really exploring their obvious musical talent. The lyrics lean more towards poetry rather than a simple rhyme scheme and I appreciate it very much. Well done guys. #8 is the personal favorite. (Change is the default favorite, but the beat on #8 makes you want to move.)

I am a fan of Pilot and Opening, you know the old JK Band stuff, this cd was too over dubbed and they tried to add to much, plus change underwent like 4 or 5 different versions, whats wrong with the first one?
