Album Notes

The LA TIMES wrote that Justin "plays musical mad scientist" with this ensemble that was supposed to be a one show only band. That initial show went so well that the band continued to play shows for a year and a half or so including opening for Daniel Brummel of OZMA, Alain Whyte (Morissey's guitarist), acclaimed songwriter Gerard McMann, and having a residency at The Knitting Factory.

The band consists of members of Back Pocket Memory, Calamity Magnet, Loverlee, popbandALICE, and more!

The songs take the players out of their normal realms and into acoustic settings with a strong string section influenced by Beck, Eels, Daniel Johnston, and the great anti-folk tradition of delicate music below rough vocals.

The band includes Justin Riner, Gen Kwong, Rob Gallgher, Ian Felchlin and the sister string section of Sona and Meline Alksanyan. The CD was recorded and mastered by Jason Krane

Highlights of the CD include "Against A Wall," "Burdens of Romance," and the 4-track recorded "Reach" which is a standout.
