Album Notes

Since arriving on the LA scene, Just Off Turner has evolved into a band that is repeatedly turning heads and consistently winning over new fans. With passionate lyrics contagious melodies and a timeless sound, JOT is a band with universal appeal. Stellar songwriting and inspiring musicianship have led audiences to draw comparisons to artists such as Jeff Buckley, Coldplay, and John Mayer.

After moving the group from Arkansas in 2001, founding members Bryan Mounce (lead vocals and guitar) and Eric Gustafson (drums & vocals) teamed up with Phil Metzler (keyboards & vocals) and Stephen Andrews (bass & vocals) to create their own exciting brand of soulful rock ‘n’ roll. Their innovative songwriting and inspired melodies have earned the band headlining spots at LA’s hottest venues such as The Mint, Key Club and the world-famous Viper Room. In addition, their songs have been featured in the ABC sitcom Help Me Help You starring Ted Danson.

Grammy winner, John Mayer, also personally endorsed the boys in his April 28, 2007 MySpace blog and wrote a glowing review of their song "How Much It Hurts" - Which he added to his own, personal MySpace music player.

On June 14, 2007, in addition to being a featured artist, Just Off Turner reached 3 on the Adult [Contemporary] chart and 5 on the Hit chart on Clear Channel’s NEW! Discover Music site.

As a result the band has won over thousands of new fans all over the world! And with recent attention Just Off Turner is receiving, fans are confident they can expect great things from their new favorite band.

I saw them live when they were in Michigan. I had heard most of the songs and liked them, but I was completely blown away at the show! It doesn't get any better than Just Off Turner!

The headlining band was Just Off Turner out of Los Angles, California by way of Arkansas, Michigan and Florida. This version of Just Off Turner is the "reloaded" version. Founding members Eric Gustafson (drums and backing vocals) and Bryan Mounce (lead vocals and guitars) have teamed up with Stephen Andrews (bass and backing vocals) and Phil Metzler (keyboards and backing vocals) to reconstruct their sound after two earlier members left the band. You can tell that these guys have been on the road for a while--they have an incredibly tight sound to their live show that can only be achieved through the performance of many shows on the road and while personally helping to support the McDonalds and Intercontinental Hotels Group (Holiday Inn) corporations. Plus both Mounce and Metzler's bone dry sense of humor comes through loud and clear between songs. And then they performed their song "The Long Walk Back." This hook laden song is very well crafted with a good verse, interesting bridge and strong chorus. Mounce's unique vocals come through well live. Metzler's keyboards are tasty. Andrews and Gustafson are a solid rhythm section who understand the philosophy of "less is more." That great quality comes through even better live. My hair was standing up when they played "The Long Walk Back" and when I closed my eyes I could easily imagine Just Off Turner playing at a stadium for 20,000 of their closest friends. Actually, I was somewhat surprised when I opened my eyes and found that I wasn't listening to them at the Aragon Ballroom or even at Allstate Arena. My advice: See Just Off Turner live now and you too can discover the treasure. -Mike Vet, The Music Vet. www.MusicVet.net
