Jen Wallwork Dominguez first emerged on the acoustic music scene in Chapel Hill, NC. She had already moved 23 times in her 21 years and the resulting combination of southern charm, cosmopolitan chic, as well as a strong rapport with her audience earned her a reputation as a "belle in combat boots." She was quickly embraced by the thriving college scene, and in the next three years she managed to quit the day job and support herself by performing. About those years, Jen says, "It was a life of ramen noodles, but it was a living."
As her audience grew and her music became more complex, Jen came into contact and began working with more educated musicians. Though she had studied classical music since the age of five, and first performed as a professional pianist at 16, she was a self-taught guitarist. "I got tired of saying things like 'It's sort of a G with an extra little thingy', I wanted to understand what I was doing and communicate it effectively." So, she loaded up her gear, her new husband, and moved again, this time to Massachusetts to study at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music.
Although performing took a back seat to intensive studying during this time, Jen's writing flourished and matured. She learned a lot, forgot as much as necessary, graduated in 2004 and moved once again, this time to Nashville. Armed with an arsenal of wit, a Tennessee driver's license and a brand-spankin' new album, she is back out on the road.
Jen takes her listeners along for the ride with music that veers across the lines of folk, rock, country, and back. Her warm voice and commanding stage presence assure them that they are safe with her behind the wheel. Her lyrics are intensely personal, yet vaguely familiar. She has an uncanny ability to put words to the images and feelings that lurk just out of reach in the back of our minds. Her songs seem to say, "Live a little, laugh a little. Life may be one long drive through the wilderness, but as long as you've got your radio you're never alone."

Very cool
author: Dana Schneider
Jen's voice is amazing. She has insightful lyrics and her songs get in your head. Her voice is a cross between Jewel and Ani Difranco -- she had edgy themes to her songs and finds just the right imagery to describe what she's seeing, feeling or smelling!
