Album Notes

After studying under the repressive bonds of a classical Conservatory of Music, this Northern California native packed her heart and soul and everything else she owned into a truck bound for Los Angeles and the freedom it offered. Kacee recorded her debut CD, SEEING RED, in 1996 and quickly found herself immersed in the vast talent pool of L.A., working side by side with players she once admired from a distance equivalent to the space between any given stage and her seat in the venue.

In the summer of 2001, Kacee was cast in the role of a lifetime: playing the lead in the extreme rock musical, "LOVE, JANIS," a journey into the mind and music of the legendary Janis Joplin. In early 2002, she was asked to join BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING CO., Janis Joplin's original San Francisco-based band, as their lead vocalist. She spent the next few years performing for packed venues full of screaming fans, carving out a name for herself, and solidifying her reputation as a raw and energetic power-house. She continues to work with BBHC and the various casts of "Love, Janis" as her schedule permits.

2005 once again brought amazing change for Kacee. She joined forces with the legendary JOE COCKER as a background singer on his Heart & Soul world tour. She continued in that capacity through the recent Hymn For My Soul world tour, which ended in early 2008.

Kacee's sophomore effort, MAMA CAME TO SING, had to be squeezed into the gaps and seams of a busy touring life. Teaming up with close friends Tom Lilly (producer) and Jon Nichols (both of the Beth Hart Band) proved to be the magical combination necessary to bring the project to fruition. Mama is a blend of hard-hitting rock, funky folk, groovy blues, and moody pop. It is the culmination of lonely days spent on the road and crazy nights spent writing in the studio, and delivers the raw vocals and powerful lyrics which are the cornerstone of Kacee's success as a songwriter.

CURRENT NEWS: Kacee is currently having the time of her life on the "Complices" World Tour with LUIS MIGUEL, which began in early September 2008 and runs through the summer of 2009. If you have an opportunity to see the show, do it! You will not be disappointed.
