"Kacey Jones Sings Mickey Newbury" may surprise you. Best known for her comedic albums including "Ethel and The Shameless Hussies" (MCA), "Men Are Some of My Favorite People" (Curb), "Every Man I Love is Either Married, Gay, or Dead," and "The Sweet Potato Queens' Big-Ass Box of Music," (IGO), it's obvious Kacey has a gift for making people laugh...including Garrison Keillor, who invited her to perform on 'A Prairie Home Companion.'

Mickey Newbury was Kacey's friend and songwriting hero. His songs have been covered over a thousand times to date by everyone from Joan Baez to Ray Charles to Elvis Presley.
He was was inducted into The Songwriter's Hall of Fame in the 90's and awarded The President's Award in 2006 by The Americana Music Association (posthumously). Mickey passed away in 2002. In tribute to him, Kacey recorded 15 unforgettable Newbury compositions and made two music videos to promote the project. Newbury's best friend, Kris Kristofferson, appears in Kacey's first video, "San Francisco Mabel Joy." Actor, Waylon Payne ("Walk the Line") is in that video also and he's 'starring' in the new video, "Lie to Me Darlin'". This album proves that Kacey Jones is more than just a one-dimensional artist.
