hard, satisfying edge
author: Suze
A great, hard-edged CD! The music is catchy; the lyrics stick in my head, and the voice is wonderfully raw. Kacy can turn even the gentlest theme into something gritty enough to take seriously, as in "kind of perfect". She uses repetition to great effect too - e.g. "holding in the world" - instead of relying on it as filler, as so many pop songs do. Definitely recommended! I'm so glad I ran across this artist (in an audio tape bin for 25c, but that's another story)!

Great comeback cd from a wonderful artist!
author: td
I got hooked on Kacy after seeing her live back in '98. I had never heard of her, but was blown away by her performance. I immediately went out and got Anchorless, her debut, and enjoyed it immensely. Ever since, I've been waiting for more music from her.
Well, the wait was worth it! Moodswing is a fantastic record, and a fitting follow up to Anchorless. It carries on in a simlar raw fashion, but with a tad more maturity. The songwriting is strong and the production is superb. Standouts on the cd include Church Organ, Traffic, and Kind of Perfect, among others.
Thanks to Kacy for making this record...now we just need to get you back to Cincinnati for a show!
I highly recommend this cd!
